The faster game is a high points scoring game and Walker is our most decorated , experienced class centre and class centres rise above all their competitors and win centre of the year and win grand finals and rep selections with their speed skill and flair

The game had moved on from Snails to Speed freaks

Des has signed Walker for another 2 years

Speed kills and the faster you go the bigger the mediocre mess you leave behind

Have we signed him for another 2years? I still think he’ll get his shot at Centre before the years out. Either through injury or one of the other blokes form dropping. With guys coming back I don’t think there’s room on the bench for both he and Lawton.

Yes we have signed him for two years and if he has a disruptive 2 years on the field he will be back to his dynamic best

Walker is no Suli . He is a completely different player

Sad, but very fair unfortunately. Will be devastating to me. I honestly think he and Garrick (centre / wing) would be absolutely destructive.

While parker has been solid and is great in defence i just think in order to beat the top teams we need walker out there. Before tommys injury he was going to play left center outside of Foran.
Garrick Walker Foran Schuster and turbo out the back screams best attacking edge in the comp. I think its too late now unless parker gets injured.... though you never know des he played parker on the wing last week so maybe walker will play center i dunno

I just don't see what others do in Walker.
His reluctance to pass the ball à la Whighton kills far too many plays.
I haven't seen any genuine pace, ( he was losing ground on Foz try tonight) he still arm grabs, even had a clean miss tonight.
He's not going back to centre, that's clear when Des goes with the swapping system of Parker and Suli to cover Garrick.

I want the guy to succeed, but pragmatically we would be better signing Cust ahead of Walker as a Half backup; better off having Croker/Fainu as our dummy-half options; Parker/Harper as our favoured centre pairing with youth on the rise and Suli as the wildcard with bigger upside if he optimises; better off with Garrick in the fullback cover.

I'm finding it harder and harder to find Walker's spot in our line-up - and I like the guy believe me.

Help me understand where he fits our future? Else he likely gets let go at the end of the season, along with Jetski, Sirro and Boyle - who have all simply been upstaged in their realtive positions like Dylan has.

Personally I would Walker go, he is useful but cultural wise he’s not what you build a successful team around. He doesn’t seem to have a place in the team anymore, he never gets picked in his specialist position. He’s injured too often and off the field a mess. He’s had plenty of chances and always lets the club down in my eyes.

Sorry, I disagree with everyone. There is a new and highly important role in the modern game - the ball playing 14. They play 50-60 minutes and come on once the game has softened up to be creative around the middle.

The Storm do it with Brandon Smith and Harry Grant together. Tyron Peachey plays the role at the Titans. Connor Watson at the Knights.

Des has Walker playing the same role now, and I believe he’s warming into the role nicely. He creates space for the outside men by going deep into the line with the ball. His defence is also good, despite what so many people on here say - saved one try in cover defence tonight.
