'ex' Barrett's Bulldogs

I think with Flanagan at halfback the dogs will be a much better attacking side. They have bought some good players but without a decent halves pairing they were always going to struggle. Flanagan will take pressure off Burton and vice versa. They've been relying on one play maker for years but I believe this pairing is the best they have.
Burton is a class running 5/8 with a booming bomb. Couldn’t organize for s$&@ tho. Was really puzzled as to why they wouldn’t have given Flanagan a proper go from the start. He’s the most suitable half to compliment Burton. Who knows if they’d started with him they might have an extra win there (broncs). Barrett needs to give him until round ten at least to see what the team can do.

He isn’t getting picked as they want to jettison His massive contract. He is the best suited half to burtons game and a Averillo is an out and out centre

Rumours are Leeds from the EPL want Flanagan, but need to see him play in firsts before the contract is locked in

He isn’t much good but he has been treated poorly

Because they have a **** coach.

Because we are traumatised by the whole Greenberg/Hasler/Barrett things over the past decade, and need to vent by gloating over the karmic misfortunes of the canterbury club.
The Dogs basically denied us a premiership, if not two, by poaching Hasler (we were in there with a huge chance in 2012 and 2013). Watching them suffer after being dumb enough to sign the worst coach in the NRL after he had already put his terrible credentials on display for the world to see with us, is a nice healthy dose of schadenfreude. Barrett is like the anti-Hasler, so it feels like the NRL world being brought back into balance. I'm loving every minute of it.

It isn't just Flanno that Barrett has thrown under a bus and treated poorly, look at Averillo now, trains him at 7 all off season then 2 games in drops him to reserves to play half.
Then brings him back to play center.
I would understand if he had dropped him to reserves to play center but WTF is he trying to do, set a record for the most amount of halfbacks used in a season ?
BTW think Flanno will kill it with Burton if his confidence holds.

What a dick is Phil Gould. Not too many Barrett fans around here, but talk about throwing your under-pressure coach under the bus...

He said this, on the controversial selection of Flanagan this week: “It’s not Trent Barrett who has made a decision on when he comes back to first grade. Trent wanted him in the side, but he came and asked me for permission to do it. I could have easily said no if I didn’t think he was ready. I said yes.”

He has to ask for Gould's permission? Wow

That is a sh*t situation made worse by the fact that Gould makes it public knowledge...

TB will be expected to supply his own chairs soon...

Gould really has given me the sh*ts on 100% Footy the last couple of weeks. A really angry grumpy arrogant disinterested panel member. I used to respect his footy knowledge but he is now fitting in really well as part of the Bulldogs.

This to me is step one in Barretts departure

This is great, I was just about to post it. Gus controlling his puppets.

Yep, that sucks. But Barrett has ALWAYS been presented as a coach who comes with his own set of training wheels and needs to be surrounded by "mentors" or "sounding boards". With us, it was Bozo. And that didn't end well. Now, with the Dogs, he's got Gould (before that it was that Kiwi rugby coach) - and that has rarely ended well for any coach.

If Barrett is to survive as an NRL coach, he needs to shed himself of that L-plater image. Can't see it happening though.

Gus doing a Jada to Barrett's Will Smith.
