'ex' Barrett's Bulldogs

I wonder how Ado-Carr is feeling. He may be better paid but his performances are appreciably poorer. On current form he doesn't deserve to hold his NSW wingers spot.

What happened to him becoming a fullback?
Surely he could do as good or better than Dufty?

‘Where’s the duty of care?’: Dogs blasted as ‘humiliated’ Kyle Flanagan recalled vs Penrith

paul crawley hasn't missed t-spaz it's so true he has treated kyle in the same manner he treated jackson hastings

It's unfortunate that Kyle's first chance is against the premiers but they've taken all the pressure off him and allowed him to gain confidence in NSW cup, which he has done. Bulldogs clearly playing the long game. The idea that this is a dereliction of duty of care is a Joke. Crawley is a class A dribbler.

Hmmm I'm not sure, somewhere in between.

Apparently Flanagan hasnt trained with first grade squad since mid to late last year, hasnt spent a minute working with Burton till this week.

Not sure about duty of care but it illustrates poor mangement from Barrett.

5 rounds in and 3 halfbacks....sheesh

So there is a duty of care? For high paid professionals?

An employee has a duty of care to any employee, the idea that once you reach a level of pay that goes out the window is....problematic.

Not to say I nessecarily agree with duty of care as the right phrase in this situation

I don't rate Crawler but he has a point. An NRL coach is like a school teacher for the 'troubled kids' class.
The way Barrett works is shocking and the way he treats players who he deems not worthy is really poor. He should get blasted for this latest decision on Flanagan. To drop the kid into a Panthers match after the master coach has failed to mould his first choice halves is shocking.

Fair enough

If Flanagan doesn't want to be playing in the NRL, he should look for another career. Is Barrett a flog? Of course he is. But Flanagan is a professional footy player with years of NRL experience and should be itching to play. It's not ideal to be thrown back in against the Panthers but really, why should the Bulldogs have a duty of care to protect him against doing his job?

Flanagan isn't complaining, I'm sure he is delighted to be playing.

But surely a coaching staff should be working to get the best out of their players and team.

The issue I see is mismanagement, Barrett wants him out, he removed him from training with the top squad mid to late last year and he hasn't spent a minute training with them since (till this week).

Barrett is panicking and not showing a cohesive strategy or confidence in his own beliefs.

If he thought Flanagan was an option start the process of re-intergrating him to the top team, or name him in the reserves and spring him into the team late so there isnt the media furore.

Basically I dont think Barrett has provided optimal conditions for his team or fr Flanagan to perform.

That said hope the kid plays well

My bulldog mates want to know why we have a bulldogs thread are we sister clubs or something. You don’t see any manly related threads on there sight seriously get rid of it.

They have heaps of Manly threads on their site. This is also a footy forum and fans can talk about any team.

We just try and keep it contained in a lol @ dogs thread (and 50 barrett threads).

Tell your mates they are welcome to become Manly fans. 🙂

Gus probably told Twent to pull his head in and pick Flanagan.

To be honest I just popped onto the Kennel and searched Manly and there are a bunch of threads discussing us.

This is a Rugby League forum at heart filled with Manly fans mainly discussing Manly, but I want to be able to discuss other clubs and other things happening the the game too.

I think with Flanagan at halfback the dogs will be a much better attacking side. They have bought some good players but without a decent halves pairing they were always going to struggle. Flanagan will take pressure off Burton and vice versa. They've been relying on one play maker for years but I believe this pairing is the best they have.
