I didn't know the lbw review process had changed.

Used to be that the ball had to be 50% or more hitting the stumps.

Now it seems with that last dud of a decision, the umpire gives it out, review show it is juuuuust hitting the stumps so it becomes an umpire's call.

Umpires will never willingly say they got it wrong so obv they will say out...but as it's so close, Aust retain a review. bizarre.

And no way any ump should be giving a call that close out to any team. No way can an ump say he was 100% sure that was hitting the stumps. 'Someone' doesn't want to return for the 5th day. lol

good on ya mitch marsh, hit a 6 so decide it's safe for a slog a thon and gets out.

didn't even face 4 overs. what a ****

I almost regret Geoff being a good cricketer seeing as now we had to put up with an endless stream of knuckleheads.

Good cricket by India as well.

Would it work if we only pay the batsman if they face more than 50 balls in an innings?

Agree @globaleagle, credit where it is due. This is a very good all round Indian cricket team.

Just goes to show we have a very weak batting line up. Pitch wasn't that bad. Khawaja is the only batsman in that top 7 you could remotely call test standard and his performances need a good dose of "tough it out" - throws his wicket away a little too cheaply for my liking. The rest are out of their depth. Problem is we don't have anyone to bring in so looks like we are stuck with this lot till Smith is eligible again.

Disappointing as I was hoping we could show some fight in this one to take it to Sydney all tied up and a chance of defending our undefeated record against India at home.

Indian team have proven they are better than what we can put up and fully deserve their historic victory. Pujara and Kholi are class bats and Bumrah has been awesome. They've managed it all without their front line spinner too.

^ True.

Wasn't it just a year or so ago where the cricketers all but went on strike for more money?

And what did we get for it. 3 banned for ball tampering, a collection of batsmen who aren't mentally tough, and a few bowlers. Not great value.

Ok, it's probably not that simple but it's just so annoying that these goofs have bugger all ave in sheffield shield cricket and still think it's the best shot to do to swing wildly at balls when we are trying to bat out 2 days.

They will hunt you down for saying that!

Congrats India, they deserved to win that test.

Hopefully finch and marsh are dropped for the next test. Bring in Joe Burns and run a raffle/ lucky door prize for the new number 6.

Magnificent effort by Pat Cummings btw!
He's so good he earned an extra letter in his name @:)

He's a great bowler, he could have had over 200 test wickets by now had he not spent the best part of 5 years out injured. I think he is the pick of our 3 prong attack, can conjure up a wicket in most conditions and is such a competitor

Not sure if the hook shot from noted specialist batsman Nathan Lyon was the correct shot either.

Pretty insipid day from the Aussie bowlers. Obviously there were 4 wickets but two of them were more bad batting than good bowling- Agarwal and Kohli throwing away their wickets with lazy shots thank goodness. There were very few plays and misses, can't remember many false shots or chances given by Indians and couldn't remember a serious LBW shout all day. Pujara is the new Dravid, he'd be happy to bat for 5 days and will wait any bowling attack out. If Labuschagne has been picked on the back of his spin bowling then God help us, he struggled with his 4 overs.

India look set to easily pass 400 which cooks our goose unless by some miracle the ball moves around tomorrow early.

^Nice one.

It's certainly hard to see the overs and runs tick over and over and over. 1 wicket only today (so far) and India 390.

I don't think I'd like to be watching it at the ground.

It seems as if India are content to bat to the end of days, get a draw and therefore win a series for the first time on Aust soil.

Yes?

Not good to see that the bowlers, captain, and coaches were all disagreeing on day one's bowling tactics. Can't imagine bowlers going their own way when Border was Captain.

What a shemozzle. (Obv, India are playing very well).

Nah, they will bat for as long as they can while the wicket holds up ..... they are confident they will get the Aussies out twice .. especially batting last ....

Will declare late today to get a couple of overs into the Aussies tonight I reckon .....

So... I'm not sure if we're using an old ball, or the new one is about to be taken (you know what I mean)

But currently, and it seems for the last 2 hours... we've used the incredible skills of Lyon (fair 'nuff) , Labuschagne , and now t-head.

I don't get it.

Capt didn't like bouncers yesterday so it's only lyon + part timers today? Um, India can play good spinners...these boofheads aren't going to trouble them too much.

Ugh

Go Canada!

edit 5 more overs till the new ball I just read

Yeah, I'd be looking at a few bank accounts after this one.

Also lemme guess.

This pitch is still great to bat on.

*Australia get all out for 200*

whining over
