Anthony Seibold - Manly coach. "Official"

He has his inner circle , Donny for example , but I doubt he has a great line of communication with anyone in the administration area.

It’s his personality , but it should be a team effort.
Yeh seige mentality is his MO - all the way to his communication with the owner.

So your point is that with Tommy we win and without him we don't. That Des is irrelevant to results.
Well No. (But I'm sure you know that down deep)

I would say that is a simplistic take on my point which is the easy out for someone not wanting to look at facts.

Of course Des is key to results. He's the manager of the side so obviously your post was a wind up.

My point in case you did honestly miss it is that if you take out one of the best players in the comp then any side will struggle.

What I will conceded is that our side as coached by Des doesn't seem to have the ability to adapt on the fly. Perhaps that's on Des or perhaps the players or both.

The facts should you be interested are this.

2018 - we were fighting for the spoon with a pretty well full squad under Tbaz

2019 - with that same squad and Tommy out at the end of the year Des made a qualifying final. A game we were well on the way to winning before Jakes singing farce.

2020 - we beat the rooters in a Grind out game before the covid shutdown. Our style was big and tough which followed on from 2019.
When PVL ball began we didn't adapt which yes is probably on Des. Tommy was also injured for a large part of season.

2021 - with a full off-season to plan for PVL ball we were ready until Tom does the corso run and a full rejig of the backline is needed. Yes you could say Des dropped the ball with DW at fullback but whoever went in there was going to struggle.
Come round 5 and then Tom returned we played some top shelf football culminating in a preliminary final.

2022 - we came out to play PVL ball and again the rules changed. Tommy looked crooked from round 1 and the rest is history.

Facts are facts Budgie. Yes Des needs to take some responsibility but not everything falls at his feet.

This place is like a mental asylum on Crystal meth. When times are good the party rolls on and the moaners stay I their cell drawing pictures of fluffy bears on the wall. As soon as the party finishes they all come out screaming and rocking.

You and others may soon get exactly what you want. Des gone and possibly Mr Anthony Seibold as manly coach. Enjoy ....I hope it makes your love of manly return and a positive rainbow appear above your head.

All three of those teams still made the 8
Souths were shot until Latrell returned. Raiders were shot ducks and Sticky was on the out apprently yet they stuck and made the 8. Roosters you can't have no. Teddy perhaps but that side is loaded under the fake Cap so don't count. Storm had a late season form bump but were never really in the comp after pappy went down again.

A good example is Todd Payton at the Cows , terrible first year , almost grand finalists the year after.
Boom. Did you actually post that and not see the irony?

Des qualifying final to missing the 8 to ONE WIN away from GF (just like Payton) to a bad season to ........... well we may never know now.

No irony at all.

The issues we’ve had with Des started as soon as he returned and haven’t stopped.

One stand out year off the back of a superstar performance from one player doesn’t fix the issues.

I just think he’s past it , and no twists of irony will change that.

I agree may take a couple of seasons but a club with a coach who can hopefully unite the players and keep us out of the media for bad reasons is a step forward he is very good with people and is known to have a stabilizing affect on people he works with, worth a shot club certainly needs it 👍😊
Can you tell me one thing that Des has actually done thats put manly in the media?

Rainbowgate? No
Manase F? No
DW DV charges? No
Tommy corso Hammy? No
AFB release? No
Out of touch owner? No

And I'm sure the list goes on....

He’s very good with all that side of things and you can only blame the administration of the organisation for most of those!!

BUT

I give you the acrimonious departure from Manly in 2011 when he completely destroyed any joy we got from winning a GF.

And then I give you the extremely acrimonious departure from the Bulldogs.

And then here we are again with another very difficult departure driving the media into a frenzy.

He’s got history , lots of it.

Oh , but I’m sure you’ll want to blame everybody other than him for each of these !!!

As an observer, and I know we all see differently and facts are often debatable, I see Des on a familiar and recurring trajectory. Not so much one of results but of emotional status where he begins to behave like a trapped animal.
We are reaching the same denoument as Des at Manly Round One and Des at Canterbury. It is the same with one commonality ... Des Hasler.

Unless you count his leaks to the media. He's notorious for this.
