2017 membership numbers (so far...)

Our membership options are very limited. 3 primary types : non-ticketed, 3 game or 10 game. I don't understandable why MWSE are unwilling to expand this? I've asked before why they got rid of the 6 game membership a few years ago and they said well you can ring up and get another 3 game one. Poor service. Other clubs have at least double this range of options e.g. 2, 4, 6, 8, 12 game packages.

And no doubt there will be a last minute rush which will expand the numbers.

I'd suggest the numbers won't end up being that different to last year , despite our protests and machinations on here.

Hovering around that number indicates little to no growth. Hardly good news for the club and perhaps is an indication that the fans are having a say and it's having an negative impact.

However, for some at the club that just means it's all our (the fans) fault and nothing to do with how the club has travelled off the field lately.

We kept the membership up for this year, but downgraded massively on previous years outlay.

I would wager that I'm not alone, and even if the numbers end up similar to last year, the actual $ amount will be less

So disappointing to see Manly is 2nd last in the membership race. Only the Titans behind us now.

It's no wonder our club gets tossed around as one to be linked with a potential relocation, can't say I blame the NRL for that. Numbers are numbers.

Upgrade Brookfield to a 20,000 seat boutique sports field ( still with a small hill) and watch those numbers climb.

We are so far behind the 8 ball with every other side so those figures are not surprising.

We can whinge about what's happening with our club but I like having something to whinge about. Unless our membership numbers increase we won't have anything to whinge about except the next club we move onto in whatever code. I can guarantee we'll still have plenty to whinge about!

As someone who doesn't really understand not renewing because of choices made by the club can I ask those that do - what are you hoping to achieve? That the club loses enough members that the Penns leave and the NRL takes over? That the Penns take us to WA? That the Sea Eagles are no more?

I look at Newcastle and they have many more members than us. Bigger crowds. The clubs in turmoil with repeated spoons but ... their supporters really don't care. They just support. Win lose or draw.

Personally I've never understood "voting with your feet" so I'm interested to hear what the end goal is?

I'll just add, everyone's entitled to do whatever they please. I'm not judging, just questioning? 🙂

Good call I'm not a supporter of the penns, bozo etc nor the decisions they have made. However, I am a supporter of the mighty eagles and had no hesitation in renewing our memberships including my adult kids, their partners and my granddaughter. However, l drew the line at our 3 dogs they are on their own. I don't want to see the team I have been supporting for 40+ years disappear. The penns of the world come and go. But hopefully the eagles will be here forever.

and most of the AFL clubs offer a concession of around 20% off memberships for pensioners etc

Am I right in thinking that the people who have cancelled or not renewed memberships, just to spite the current owners, will be the first on here and other social media complaining if we end up relocating cause the owners arent a bottomless pit of money ?

Membership is not the only way that fans can support the team.
