Plans to build a retractable roof over ANZ Stadium and reconfigure its seating to create a perfect rectangle for watching rugby league, rugby union and football are set to move closer to fruition, with consortiums asked to submit tenders for the proposed upgrade. An advertisement placed by Stadium Australia Operations in Thursday's Australian Financial Review calls for expressions of interest in the project to develop the masterplan unveiled last July by then NSW minister for sport, Graham Annesley. THERE has been a changing of the guard with the time- honoured, energy-sucking annual summer beep test at the Manly Sea Eagles. It has always been the domain of super-fit hooker Matt Ballin. However, he has finally been pipped in the contest by prop Brenton Lawrence. Both players topped the 13 mark for the 20m stop/start torture test against the clock.
