Is Samoa pull off a miracle and win tonight then questions should be asked about Nathan Cleary's worth at rep level.
Penrith fans think he's already the GOAT. The NSW league media is that desperate for someone after years of Qld domination by Lockyer, Smith, Thurston, Cronk, Inglis and Slater that they labeled him "King Cleary" when Meninga chose him over DCE. But really he's only ever proven that he's a good front runner. When the chips have been down (see Origin 2020 and 2022), he's been found wanting and tends to go missing.
Tonight should be an unlosable game for Australia. But if we do lose.....will the knives be out for the new King GOAT?? Not to mention Meninga's position if we lose.....
