Mark its looking like we are recycling our assistant coach to head coach. With our salary cap issues we wont be buying anyone of any note. So sadly, its not too early in our case because we all know this is the status quo for 2019.

You maybe right BUT not one of those things have been 100% confirmed yet!!

I actually think we might be operating on a normal cap in 2019!!

And I’m yet to be convinced that it will be Cartwrong, although that’s more likely that the cap.

The salary cap excuse is a joke let's drop the hysteria we are only down $330,000 for next season which is nothing in the scheme of things. If we have a weak squad (which we do) an extra $330,000 isn't going to make us a strong squad.
I see no improvement next season in our squad because they are mostly under contract so we are stuck with them. Battle for the spoon again and start to climb again in 2020.

That is correct. 364 points against us over 18 games. If they played 24 games that season (like this season) then on averages the season total would have worked out to be about 485. If tries were worth 4 points that season then the total would surely pass 500.

And your point is? We are as good defensively as very first season? Well. I'd hope we'd be better that ...... but that's just me..

I agree with the point you are making ... but as far as the actual numbers are concerned I think the modern game makes any comparison impossible ... for example ..Broncos had 500 points scored against them and came 6th ... 7 or 8 teams had more than 500 points put on them ... with the referees controlling up to 10 penalties in a row and 22% possession stats, having 40 scored on you in one half is no longer unusual ...... we lost 8 games by less 6 points ... but 2 big losses can be up to 80 points against.

So, I don't think the actual numbers matter .... the fact we finished 15th tells us all we need to know ..

Despite being a numb nut, punchie I believe defence is totally about attitude. In the past we've had **** attacking teams that could tackle. This team cant. So, I think we'll both agree that our defence is **** and if we don't fix that well 2019 ain't going to be much better than 2018.

Apart from good quality mature amateur BBW porn, I love nothing more than watching a team attack in defence and that's something we don't do and have not done under Barrett or Cartwright.

In our wonderful history we've only had 11 seasons where we leaked >500 points

1947 to 1998: No seasons >500 points scored against us. From 1947 to 2018 the average points scored against us in a season is 364.

If tries were worth 4 points in 1947 and you worked out the average to 24 games then the 1947 side would be the equivalent of 579 points conceded.

Also in 1953 we conceded 85 tries in 18 games. On averages that makes the 1953 outfit 10 tries more worse off than the 2018 outfit over 24 games. This was 2 years after a grand final appearance too. I believe only 2 of our seasons (2003 and 2004) are worse than 1953 in terms of tries conceded.

But yes you are right that defence over the last 3 seasons has been unacceptable and that our history has been wonderful.
