Turbo back.. at centre

Back row, bench forward....knee jerk much?

It's his first game back playing in an unfamiliar position with seemingly some pretty severe mental scars.

He'll come good.

Has only done three training sessions. First game in a new position. Got through 80 mins and we won. Good result.
Agree. Gotta admit, watching him during the game I couldn't help thinking of Joe Biden "I'm fine what's the problem" lol
Clearly ran out of gas very early but give him a week or two and he'll be great. Old footy adage, never knock a champion.

No impact and an easy target in defence. He is no where near origin fitness and not ready to play full back yet either IMO. He often looked like he was grimacing when hit in a tackle. Defensively he was solid. He needs match fitness and more confidence. My fingers are crossed.

Fully aligned with your view on Brooks, he has been ordinary to say the least the past few games, there comes a time when the hard questions need to be asked.
33 tackles not bad for a 5/8... more than any other 5/8 this round...

Brooks played with courage last night. He needs a dominant halves partner so next week is tricky. If Seibs makes same same selection fopau on halves as in the Souths game we have won’t get the points against Newcastle. We need an experienced half back and Humphries has been in good recent form.

He wasnt the worst Trbojevic out there !
Well I know you are not talking about Jake and I actually thought Ben went alright last night...

he missed a couple of tackles but made 22 and had 5 runs for 45m with 3 tackle busts and 20m post-contact...

He was only out there for 41min and did well to recover from that big contact that shook him up (the first one)...

Jurbo, Butbo then Turbo for mine... obviously Turbo had excuses but I was seriously (and loudly) questioning Seibolds decision to play him when he could not even keep up with Nanai 25min in...

I sincerely hope it was just the lack of match fitness, but Jordan McClean ran right past him as well at one point.

Reckon the long term plan will end up being
1. Lehi
2. Saab
3. Koula
4. Turbo
5. Garrick
6. Brooks
7. Chez

Given I missed last night's game.... disappointing family event I was ordered to go to so only have seen highlight package, I didn't hear much about Talau so I guess he's the one who misses out? Garrick hopefully won't be pissed about moving positions, but the team comes first. Personally, I'm excited to see my back line move around on a dry track on a Sunday afternoon. Speed everywhere.

Same here. There were several times last night where I thought there was a distinct lack of speed. Both in attack and defence. Not sure this was about fitness or fatigue. We actually saw this prior to Tom getting injured a couple of months back. My fear is that the lack of speed may be here to stay. Hope I am dead wrong but the evidence suggests otherwise. If the case, then I doubt we will ever see him back at FB.

Has to be said. Our Coach got this one right. Turbos fitness lacking. He still adds to the team at centre. And is one week closer to being match fit.

Regardless of the half back he needs to swap with Brooks and spend some time at five eight next week for mine.

A raiders hooker at FB? I think Danny has had his chance at the Sea Eagles 😜

Did you watch him try to kick the ball last night? Tom has no kicking game and has never been a playmaker. His running game has always been his strength. To my mind, if he's not a fullback, he's a centre. I'd put him in the pack before putting him in the halves. My guess is Seibs will leave him at centre for at least a few more weeks, if only to let him get some fitness and confidence back.

Talau was probably our best back. He’s been fantastic. First one picked on form atm

So, who are going to drop? Garrick doesn't go - goal kicker. Saab being faster and scoring tries. Koula a gun, Lehi great at fullback. We want Turbo back. You can't fit 6 into 5? Great place to be but...

Sua Fa'alogo at the Storm just played at #14 as Papenhuyzen returned, so it's possible.

For the time being, if we do that with Lehi, then he probably needs to add another 5-10kg or so. He's got a big enough frame but he'll still need to fill out as backs need to be doing decent hit-ups. We were losing momentum once Saab went off in the closing stages last night.

As for what happens next year, to me that's a bit more complex. We also won't have a back rower who can play hooker if needed, so we will probably need a bench hooker. So, if we have a back and an interchange hooker then we'll only be left with two middle forwards on the bench. Something will have to give.
