Make Manly Great Again #Hasler2019
wow just wow. I’ve been a bit critical the last couple of seasons about his club form but you can clearly put that down to the lack at coaching at club level.

He is truly one of the games elite.

I think on the back of last night his confidence will be sky high look at titans.

I’m still curious after last night is his best position centre or fullback.

Wow we have some depth now in the outside backs. No one was saying that in the off season.

This young man is a super athlete and is my favorite back to watch. I don't care where they play him as long as he plays for Manly. IMO Jake is the best all round forward in the game at the moment. His defence is powerful and I expect very painful for the opposition and he is a meter eater that has ball skills. Thats the complete package as far as I'm concerned! We are so so lucky to have these boys at Manly!

Yep Turbo has gone to a new level.
His game vs Illawarra was a sensation and then SOO 2 was crazy, keep in mind, been out with injury and only just got back...
His positional play looks sharper than before, the tips from Snake Stewart are definately part of his improvement also which includes more talk from the back.
Tom's transition has also gone from great player, to a great leader and he has a positive effect on those around him, which is a Huge plus.

Tommy was elite last night (and vs the Dragons). Definately stepped up a gear. We need a Cook at dummy half to fully unlock the genius.

He is a deadset superstar, i can't believe some of the numpties on this site were actually being so critical of him at one stage. He is coming along very nicely and proved it last night and also in our last game against Stgeorge. Also lets not forget his brother, Jake is an incredible player and we are so damn lucky to have them at Manly.

Super athlete and doesn't matter where you play him, just get the ball in his hands as much as possible. Having players like Cook and Tedesco around for him to work off looked awesome last night. Centre may well suit him slightly better defensively because he only has to deal with what's in front of him. I think he is still learning defensive positioning as a fullback, but that will come with experience. He'll be one of the greats by the time he retires, up there with Changa as one of the great centre/fullback

The club need to sign him and Jake ASAP, The longer it is left the more their value goes up.
I don’t know if discussions have started or they have been advised to hold off and test the market but get it sorted before clubs like Canterbury start throwing around a million dollars.
Agree duffman the dogs are circling & we have money hungry owners.I hope they don’t offload the brothers for the cash.

Yes he was awesome.

I strongly believe his best position is fullback - he didn't play a traditional centre role last night, he roamed like a second fullback. That is only an option for Manly if we had two outstanding fullbacks which we don't have (Elliot is not and Hoppa is more likely to come through and be a centre/wing option for us next year even though he has played mainly fullback).

We just need Tom to stay healthy. Down the track he might look at a positional change if his size and the toll of fullback starts to become too much (ala Inglis), but that's a way off yet.

Gotta be fullback so he can chime in at every opportunity. Id say his defence isnt as good as teddy at the moment which kèeps him to centre in rep games. If he plays centre for us hel only get half the ball he gets now.

Tommy had a sensational game last night ... and again credit to Freddy for giving him a roaing licence .... but as far as centre is concerned .. he was a bit fortunate that he was not tested with any critical defensive reads close to our line ... not saying he wouldn't have performed and obviously with more time in the position he would excel ... just saying he was fortunate he wasn't tested ...

Anyone that thinks you stick a guy like that in the centres at club level has no idea about rugby league; no idea. Give up analysing football if you think that is a plausible option. To think that, is so far removed from any kind of footballing logic, that it astounds me.

He backed up in the middle of the field last night and scored two tries. The first try, he went in field and stood where a fullback would normally field. Against the Warriors and Dragons, he absolutely murdered the opposition from fullback.

I've seen him do a number of incredible things from fullback. I haven't seen him do anything incredible from centre yet. I haven't seen him take the ball on the edge and get on the outside of his man or set up his winger (i'm sure he could, be didn't do it last night). All the good things he does, are from fullback positions on the field. If you can give more ball and more opportunities to one of the best athletes in the game, why wouldn't you?

Why even have the conversation?!

Him roaming as a second fullback was really damaging for QLD. Rather than have to deal with out wide play to centres you had two sharp as a tack fullbacks running amok in the middle. Defensively that must be hard to deal with, no matter what happened you had a tackle beating, hole running fullback there and another to run off him. Absolutely lethal

@Snake I'm a bit confused. Can you please clarify your position on this topic? 🙂

It astounds me. How many times do we need to be slapped in the face with logic before we wake up?

If you are playing 1 at club level, making rep teams, are considered amongst the greatest young talents in the NRL...where is the problem of positioning coming from? He is making those team because of his ability at club level, where he plays FULLBACK!!!! Latrell Mitchell is the only "elite" player in the game that plays centre at club level and that is because he (a) plays in a team with Tedesco and (b) his body is more power than endurance (Tom has a combination of both...something you need at 1).

If Tom played centre last week, he wouldn't have run for 340m against St George...forget about the try he scored from the grubber kick...for crying out loud...make it stop! hahaha.

don't ask HoldenV8 ... he'll blow a head gasget .... and Snake will start shedding skin!!

If Latrell is "worth" a million a year over 10yrs, geez I shudder at Turbo's value!
Well we'll find out what both he and Jake are worth very shortly. They are both only contracted till end of next season AFAIK (2020) so negotiating can commence at the completion of this year for all other 15 clubs. I'm 100% confident we'll tie both of them up for as long as we can.
