The time has come to release the Trbojevics

I don't want them gone but I do want them both to take a $400k haircut on their contracts
Good luck with that, the only time I can remember players taking a price cut was when we had a champion team that wanted to stay together about 12 or 15yrs ago.

Does everyone know that since debut to the end of this season Tom will have played 59% of possible regular season games? If he's injured again next year it will sit closer to 50%. He's almost been paid as much to sit on the sidelines as he has to play.

Even if the turbos wanted or agreed to a mid contract downgrade there is no way their managers would allow it as their commission is tied up to the contract value. There’s too many parties involved nowadays.

Time to Release the turbos Perspective ......

High paid Representative Players like DCE Tom and Jake have carried their Manly teams for years

Time to Release and Upgrade Players like the Slow and Predictable Parker and Croker
and Replace them with more Xfactor winning players

I reckon the kid would be as frustrated as we are, there's no doubt he wants to play.

The only payback I would love to see is for him to declare that he's standing down from rep duties for 12 months to repay the club for the time he's had out.

BUT, not that this means he won't get injured playing for us.

It will be absolutely tragic if he gets back on the field next year and suffers another season ending injury in the first few rounds.

I don't know how many more of these he'll incur before pulling the pin on his career, but another couple and that would have to come into consideration.

Not only that, there is NO way tthe salary cap auditor would allow a mid contract downgrade

Hopefully Tommy might work on his agility and movement patterns whist injured… since the guru Knowles finished with our fullback, he hasn’t had the same explosive power and shows in his underwhelming performances.

The pec injury could yet be a blessing in disguise… and allow a return to his running confidence (without Knowles’ game-sense training to mess up his gait) If Tom could address optimum ground contact time and acceleration, we may see a return to trbo ’21. Actually miss trbo doing his thing…

Yeah, let's get rid of the heart and soul of the club and buy some Tigers and Dragons rejects.

$2m should get us Duoehi, Zane Musgrove, Ben Murdock -Masalia and Jack Bird.

Sounds good right?
Absolutely. Especially Duoehi, as he’s not due back till mid season.

couldn’t agree more, full off promise but no deliver.
No different to Fanui’s, we kept paying old mate for nearly 2 years while awaiting court hearings.
Sooner we move on the better.

Getting rid of them will never happen, I would have a fire sale and get rid of 6 To 8 of them and buy two quality players.

‘…optimum ground contact time…’

Is that you, Trent Robinson?

Thought that there may have been some provision in the Big three 's contracts to include some ratcheting up provision with the increased cap or proposed but hopefully or is not actually occurring on current indications. nor should it in practical terms .

Still the reports of Manly 's cap being a bit tight now and even with the Shu on a reduced and form based contract going forward or for 3 seasons apparently and Latu 's not inconsiderable contract finishing .
Acquiring a few buys but then still some room to accommodate Lodge on all accounts so a bit there somewhere to still ideally bolster the roster and maybe Weekes and a couple of other Blacktown lads and Parker , and of course Bulemor who should be a must .
Probably very little left after all of these likely and desirable deals are finally completed .
Just in regard to Jake's and Turbo 's situation , with the increased cap and in proportion again or in relation to their current deals , would seem about right even taking into account Turbo :s obvious difficulties .
Any continuing or ongoing similar issues with Turbo , could be a different matter then and even if he was on a less contract value

Disappointing thread. These boys are the heart and soul of this bleak Manly era. It's like throwing out the baby with the bathwater. I agree their next contracts will need be commercially sensible but getting rid of the diamonds amongst the rocks is not logical.
Disappointing paying the equivalent of 2.6 mil a season or 1.3 for a half season to a bench watcher.
Have to have some perspective as it's not a one off is it.

There is no way that we can all of a sudden reduce Schuster's contract for any future season just because someone at Manly was stupid enough to sign him for 800k a season and he hasn't lived up to it.

Think you've summed up what the majority of Manly fans think and hope for. It's just been another season of frustration and what ifs again. Surely, with no more major injuries, 2024 will be a big turning point for Tom and the team going forward..

Not too sure how the ongoing situation for the Shu has been arranged .
Just that he has signed a revised deal for about 600 - 650 k or so for 3 years and he was already contracted for next season and taking into account that his previous contract represented some 800 k .
Almost certain hardly any other clubs were prepared to match the 800 k and probably almost any other potential suitors even balking at a 600 k level .
Still quite hopeful that he can reproduce his or the majority of his 2021 form level and be a real asset [ for the full 80 ] for Manly again
Change of position again but obviously a genuine commitment to the club and injury and form outcomes ideally again also a turn for the better .
