There are certain players that are so good that everyone knows that they are going to be stars before they’ve played first grade. Back in the eighties and nineties Alexander and Fittler, Daley, Clyde, Andrew Johns, Brasher, then Benji, Thurston, SBW etc there’s heaps more of them. Melbourne were stacked full of these types of players. Bellamy cannot create in a player natural ability, it’s either there or it isn’t. Would Inglis, Folau, Slater, Cronk, Smith, Hoffman, Bromwich, Chambers and many more like them (really couldn’t be bothered naming them all. Are they all superstars because Bellamy somehow gave them ability. No I mean Israel Folau is so good he can take twelve months to do nothing in AFL before becoming the only true superstar in the Wallabies side. Is that because he got coached by Craig? NO he’s just one of those immensely talented athletes of which Craig has had an absolute abundance of over his career. I mean FMD Inglis and co could have gone to the Squeels under Jason Taylor and they would have dominated in their positions, because they are that good. Bellamy or no Bellamy Smith, Cronk, Slater etc would still be champions.
