The storm have..

Had the view since the day it happened and will always continue to represent a balanced view on this subject.
So this is what you are saying: The Storm are apparently so good that they deserved to be absolved of any proven accusations of systematically cheating the salary cap over five years and bringing the game into disrepute. You are also assuming that everybody else is doing it, so it was okay.

Your argument reflects a computer programming term for incorrect assumptions causing incorrect or nonsense output:

Garbage in, garbage out.

Melb paid Market Value, inflation in one sector tends to flow through to other sectors "Economics 101"
Melbourne consistently paid above agreed budget, which in turn saw them breach a contract with the NRL - punishment was due
"Contract law 101"

The sum of their contracts for any given year in the period in question was greater than the amount they agreed they would spend "maths 101"

They engaged in fraudulent activity - fact.

Everyone has their own definition of cheating, you can have your own view.

Pretty expensive lineup shown above

For the next 3 years Manly were paying through the teeth for heavily back-ended deals for the 2011 GF players that remained.

This ended up with a heavily unbalanced roster as:
- Recruitment suffered as we had to pick up the cheapest money could buy for each remaining position
- The resulting decision not to table an offer to Glenn Stewart caused another well-documented drama for the club.

Presuming you are in fact a Manly fan, you would have known this already but to be honest I am not sure.

Doesn't constitute cheating just fraudulent activity on a given set of rules and caught doing so.

Your point is way off the mark and a different time period.

What has the Glenn Stewart lack of a tabled offer have to do with this subject.(If Manly wanted to keep Glenn they would of been able to keep him)

I know it comes across as a troll but i just feel Melb have been unfairly targetted and not respected as they should be.

Even Gus Gould has a measured balanced view of this.

I cant ever have any love for a club that flaunted the rules for years and saw it as an occupational hazard in being caught. They have been very fortunate to have a spine that is lethal and they have been able to put in workers that give them a platform. There have been articles about a level playing field. With Melbourne, they have a big advantage, one team town, stadium purpose-built for them, unlimited third-party payments that allow them to keep players. I will give credit for their long-term players but the culture they have is built on a platform of cheating and breaking the rules!!

People suggesting that this years premiership was preordained by the NRL in the way of favourable calls are dreaming. They have been caned in the penalties all season. Truth is they are light years ahead of the next best team. A better question would be, how do you put together a squad of elite talent like they have and have enough room to sign Nate Myles for fun mid season, while also assembling some of the brightest young talent in the game. Now that there is the thing that ha me stumped.

Totally right!
Best team for sure but also for sure not all Salary caps are created equal!

For the first time I can remember, I turned off the Grand Final before it even ended. Hell, I haven't even turned the TV off for GF's Manly has lost.....but I did last night at about 72 minutes.

The Cows had scored so the 40-0 was safe, we all knew who was going to win (realistically, the Cows were never in last night. They left it all at the SFS last week), and I didn't want to listen to any more of the Big 3 orgy that Nein had going on in the commentary box.

Calm down everyone, they're not cap rorters.. The scum's practices are all above board and will be audited by Greenturd himself ..just after scam's testimonial where they'll scrape in around 9.4 million in revenue... So it's all legit. No more asterisks against their name.

Conversely no local playing pool and having to pay overs just for "potential" up and comers, overs to retain the talent they created when the opportunity arises to move closer to home, losing Orford(for the same reasons) along with lacking free exposure in a general way like in NSW and QLD.

The issue is not as clear cut as haters want to make it, along with other reasons that fans of other clubs prefer to not do the research in because it is easier to throw stones than receive.

Seriously !!! They have a city of 4 million to draw on and one of Greenturds stated preferred model stadiums yet can't fill it ever and can barely crack a 19k average in an obvious premiership season . They have unlimited TPA from corporate support and unlimited assistance from the NRL. I wish Manly was doing it as tough as they supposedly are.

We are talking past not present.
