Walker will be 35 next season. Already he isn't the player he once was. They will need a replacement sooner rather than later

For the game to survive in the age of Tik Tok & beyond the NRL needs as much exciting talent playing as possible.
Shame Schu didn't work out at Manly, but wishing him all the best at Souths.

Cheap option for any alternative club with Manly chipping in some 200 K , maybe Souths only had to offer a basic and short term contract to top up his pay .
Did take a while for a club to commit , just too many things seemed to eventually accumulate negatively with his Manly career .
Future prospects may well depend on fitness and injury factors more then anything else and there is always the English S L option but things would have to still be a bit more favorable for that move as well .
Just so impressive in some of his earlier career games for Manly.

We could of kept Samuela, but he wanted Latu to be part of the deal. Tiger's willing to pay 1m for both of them, but we weren't. Let's face it, after the Manase debacle the Fainu's have been a poison chalice, just wasn't meant to be. Seriously, we are better of without them.

With us regrettably chipping in 200k, South's wouldn't of paid much at all. If the Shyster fails to impress, it's not a big money spend for them. Worth a crack I guees, not a lot to lose.

Samuela has played some decent games but I think its seriously early to be crying over spilt milk... Ryan Matterson was the games best forward for 12 months, same with Papalii (tigpies), Horsborough (raiders), Guac (maybe 3 months) etc etc...

Sam's "awesome" form does not hold a candle to any of those (and others) yet I aint leading the cheersquad to have any of them in maroon and white...

Talent gets you so far... are the Fainus (or Josh) willing to do the hard work that makes you a genuine star of the game? Maybe, but I have my doubts...

Personally I do not see a drop of milk on the floor... yet...

Not fussed on Schuster. He was given every chance here.
And can also understand the Humphries decision.

I thought from 2016 to maybe 2022 gutho was very good for the erls

However at the time he was let go from manly some of the concern was around his knee injuries. He seemed ok until now.

He has lost all his pace and it seems to have happened suddenly.

I suspect he'll hit the ground running next year and we'll hear all about his transformation during the off-season. After a couple of strong performances, there will be an interview where he talks about how he can be the best player in the NRL. Then, he'll have a calf strain and miss a few games, before putting on weight and losing motivation. Then he'll languish in reserves for the rest of the year.

The club moved heaven and earth to look after the Fainu family, Latu got a huge contract because of his potential and it is sad to see them playing with another club.

For 5 years we did not cover the hooker role, put in a makeshift guy in Croker who holds his own but lacks the consistent quality from a dummy half and running perspective.
