The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

He played 21 games for us last year.

I agree his manager should keep quiet but I don't blame Schuster for that.
I’m not blaming schuster .. I rate the kid , think he will be a top player for manly for years to come.. but if his manager wants to carry on like a pork chop about his position in the team, he might wanna wait til the kid can play regularly without being injured

Tin hat time......

Could it be possible Josh got Covid at his party (Koula shows symptoms and gets tested too). So Manly not wanting the bad PR list him out with a calf injury???

Guess if he is at the game injured today it ruins my wild theory hahaha

Now that we know that Foran is leaving. Josh has to start the next game he is fit at 5/8th. Move Foran to half and have DCE at hooker and have Croker on the bench as a utility to replace any of those players or reshuffle if necessary.
But DCE won't play 9 next year.. so it's a bit counter productive don't you think

So far Schu has proven he has talent, but that was never in doubt. Whether he has all the other qualities that are necessary for a successful NRL career will be revealed in due course, once he can get back on the field consistently.
At this stage he has played 23 NRL games so is still a rookie in most ways.

Touché… but the Schu has more talent in his left (probably injured😂) toe than Ash Taylor had at anytime in his career. Myth.

Schu will come good. Just kids growing into bodies that aren’t fully developed yet.
Yeah, trust me. I wanna see Schu succeed for our sake and agree he certainly has more talent than Taylor ever had. I'm just weary (and frustrated) with the injuries and inability to get on the field. Coupled with how "big" he appeared in his only game this year after returning from his last injury and it's not encouraging. We wont even mention the whole manager 5/8 thing.

Don't think that's quite correct. Taylor was a prodigious talent as a halfback and when he was signed by the Titans it was heralded as the recruitment coup of the decade. As we know, he never really fulfilled his promise but I don't think that was down to lack of talent, and it is a reminder that a lot of things have to go right to succeed at NRL level.

I think we need to be careful with the Schuster hype too.

He has always had injury troubles right through his junior career. He has shown a tendency to put on weight quickly. We know Daly is better when there is someone else to help steer the ship. We know that no matter how talented (Nathan Cleary), it takes young halves a few years to really hit their straps. We know Schu is a globetrotter.

There’s little to suggest that he will come out next year, play 25+ games of first grade with a cool head, and help us challenge for a premiership. Yet, I feel the expectations are this will happen, simply because he is a talented ball player.

You’re entitled to your opinion
I'm entitled to your opinion too, so thank you!
We are all rightly excited about what Schu might achieve.
I can imagine him having a stellar season at some stage of his career and winning the Dally M.
At this stage though I am not so sure he will be a dominant and consistent longterm playmaker for us, but obviously I hope he will be.
