The No-Look News (Schuster Chronicles)

much like a Ducati ...maybe a common theme here?
im sensing dejavu all over again with this line of thinking ,and I'm sure Alfa Romeo was brought up.... beautiful to look at parked in the garage but unfortunately that's where it spends most of its time. .
Anyway I think he will be fine maybe they have to pay special attention to his calves or what ever it is ,also he is still young and potentially still growing a bit and with the way he can move and his increase in weight that would put added pressure on his soft tissue .
Go Manly ...good things ahead

I think we need to be careful with the Schuster hype too.

He has always had injury troubles right through his junior career. He has shown a tendency to put on weight quickly. We know Daly is better when there is someone else to help steer the ship. We know that no matter how talented (Nathan Cleary), it takes young halves a few years to really hit their straps. We know Schu is a globetrotter.

There’s little to suggest that he will come out next year, play 25+ games of first grade with a cool head, and help us challenge for a premiership. Yet, I feel the expectations are this will happen, simply because he is a talented ball player.
That’s the trouble with “ hype “.

If those luxury Italian sports car type players spend more time on the blocks than not then it’s obvious that we’ve got the ones built on a Friday arvo at 3.00pm because there’s a few in other sides that are rarely on the blocks.

and to think that Ash Taylor was on Manly 's radar for a while during Daley :s previous contract saga . One of the better halfs emerging at the time but the rest is history of course . Talents like Josh and with so much potential don't come on to the scene all that often , eventually settled down injury and form wise for a good part of last season and certainly hope that that can be more the norm for Manly ongoing . Sure that he can be a terrific player long term for Manly , but again hopefully will be able to spend the majority of time on the field then off it very soon .

The worry is that he's had previous calf injury and they've put no time line on a return. This could be a long layoff again which will kill any chance we have of competing against the top 8 teams.

I'm entitled to your opinion too, so thank you!
We are all rightly excited about what Schu might achieve.
I can imagine him having a stellar season at some stage of his career and winning the Dally M.
At this stage though I am not so sure he will be a dominant and consistent longterm playmaker for us, but obviously I hope he will be.
The injuries and the style he plays screams flash in the pan. I really hope not because he is a terrific human being...very respectful and humble.

Schu will come good. Just kids growing into bodies that aren’t fully developed yet.

I hope so regarding injuries, but sometimes it doesn't work like that.

Curtis Sironen for example had an injury history since before his debuted, and from there he ended up playing an average of 13 games per year in his 10-year NRL career.

Seriously. Relax. Last year was Schuster first season in first grade and was amazing last week even after Des said he hasn't had a pre-season coming into this season. Everyone was singing his praises and even calling for him to STAY in the the backrow last year but then Foran got injured then he got his chance against a top 4 side and killed it so If you have doubts go watch that game against the Eels last year. Since then Joey and Gus are convinced he's a 5/8 of the future at Manly (even spoke about it last week). Come sooner than we expected but it's not like Storm be happy they lost Smith, Panthers-Kikau & Api, Eels-Mahoney & Papali'i, it just is what it is with the cap. Enjoy Foz in the maroon & white this year cause we certainly had a bitter taste in our mouth when he left but now he's cemented his name in Manlys history with a fantastic 2021 return and doing more so this year🦅

Reminds me of this one, but focused on a brand from across the Atlantic -

Q: What do Harley Davidsons and cattle dogs have in common?
A: They like to go out for a run in the morning, but always come home in the back of a truck.

I don’t rate the modern ones but I’ve owned many bikes of assorted brands but amazingly never had any problems with the Harley-Fergusons

There’s a real bike you purse carrying nancy boys.. 😂
