Can't help but think of the Doctor that signed his re-hab release form spitting his cherrios out all over the front page of his newspaper.

Is there a sniff of Peterides Inc IO (Information Operations) underway here?

He was having a crack at Arthur a week or two ago in his MD column.

Wouldn't put it past him; and in this instance at least, go you good thing!

If the story is true and that he has a gambling problem, that is bloody sad to be honest. The NRL needs to do more in relation to coaching players about the perils of excess gambling and maybe they could use some of the money that they get from the betting agencies whos ads plague our game when its on TV. If he is gambling to excess I hope he can get control of it as he is just another statistic of young footballers having too much time on their hands and getting into destructive habits like that.

Didnt the same thing happen to Sandow when he first went to the Squeels, but on a higher scale.Look how that ended up

Sorry Bourbon Beccy, not true. Not in the slightest. A 30 second check of the pools of every race at Vaal on Thursday night shows nowhere near $20k in the win pool of any of the races.

It's the same at Dapto - there were 2 races where the pool was over 10k. If anybody - Foran or a professional punter - was having 10k bets on the dogs their own bet would take the price to $1.50. The only time punters can bet in those amounts are on Saturday afternoons.

I would say he accessed a fixed odds market which does not apply to the tote odds pools, otherwise every 20K bet he put on would bring prices of dogs or late night South African hoses into $1.04 no matter what the original price was. That's why you do not see that in the tab pools.
The TAB are smart, they don't want to discourage the big punters by having the above happen hence the availability of fixed pools. I wouldn't be surprised if as a big punter he wasn't able to access bookies directly who will take his bets.

Have to laugh at 1ee who are suggesting that they stand and clap Foran at the 7 minute mark on Monday night. FFS

Maybe because he lost his money on horse no 7 in race 7?
Seriously ?? How pathetic is that place. How about they clap in the 86th minutes to honour the year of their last premiership. What a bunch of muppets

I can't believe his so-called rehab. He gambles crazily on the day he was released?
Complete joke.
At least Mitchell Pearce finished his rehab and is still attending AA. That's taking rehab seriously - not the Greenberg solution which this is looking more and more like.
Reporter gets a sniff of an OD story and hey, let's turn it around with rehab.
This bloke has big problems and he needs to understand that this game he loves and the people he trusts in it are nothing but a hologram. He has a nasty life ahead of him if he doesn't address his feelings and behaviours asap.

ABOUT $75,000 was lost in a two-hour gambling spree from a TAB account belonging to troubled Parramatta Eels star Kieran Foran.

Foran secretly checked out of rehab in Queensland on Thursday night.

He flew to Sydney, where about $75,000 was gambled away on his TAB account during the two-hour splurge.

+ It's ridiculous that the nrl who claim player welfare as a #1 priority...as does parra...that he is playing on the weekend then flying back to rehab. total b/s.

Add this to the above report and footy should be way down the list. hello...family...you there?

Anyway, parra's problem now. Enjoy.

I suspected that it was gambling related, when he took leave from playing a few weeks ago. It seemed that every time Kieran Foran was mentioned in the social papers as having been seen somewhere, it was always the Belrose or a nearby northern beaches TAB where he was spotted. I actually saw him the following day, after the semi final victory against Brisbane in 2011, at Manly leagues with Glenn Stewart and Darcy Lussick. He had a serious hand full of $50's and was punting that day too. What must be of another concern is that there is a story doing the rounds on a few sites, that it was actually Brad Arthur that leaked his third party issues with Manly to the media. Kieran Foran obviously knows nothing of it at this stage. He made an awful mistake going to that club. More importantly though, I hope he gets it together, young family to care for.
