The Daly Cherrygraph

I disagree . The QLDers are proud men and their no 1 motive is to avoid an embarrassing 3 nil whitewash at the hands of NSW .
The no7 Jumper belongs to DCE and he will make it his own .
Fair points that u make... I am suspicious tho as they had more than enough opporrunity to pick him for his skill when he was in red hot form last year or his game management when they didn't hane Cronk or Thurston for Game 1 this year... he's currently in a team coming 4th last and his form has been solid not outstanding imo...

I’m really interested to see how he goes. This season he hasn’t played his best footy and I want to see what he goes like with fast plays of the ball, bullet like passes from his hooker and someone on the other side of the ruck who will also kick.

He might also have a game plan with kicking low in behind turbo and grubbering it to him all night. He more than anyone would know how Tom can be a little sloppy with the footy on the ground.

That's why they chose Hunt for game 1 this year. Where were the dragons on the ladder then in comparison to us? In game 2...they give Hunt another go.

For game 3 they've gone for a better option, imo. People say that DCE and Munster are too similar, but origin is not weekend footy. DCE and Hunt have a superior kicking game to Munster sure, but from an attack point of view...DCE and Munster can strike from anywhere. Hunt off the bench for McCullough would add even more strike power.

I just spotted this from an article posted about DCE and those who have influenced him most being his coaches. How good is this to hear about what Tooves taught him. Makes you wish he was still involved.

"The best thing I got out of Tooves was understanding how important the club should mean to you, and how every time you wear the jersey you represent more than just yourself.

"He certainly ingrained in me what that club stands for and how proud a club it is. Every time I put on the Manly jersey I know that Geoff Toovey was a big part of why I go out there and play as passionately as I do."

It wouldn’t surprise me if some (now retired) Qld players *did* have an issue with DCE.

There is one now retired old Qld player who doesn't seem to mind Daly. He posted this about 45 minutes ago on Facebook. I think we know this man 😉

Even if it's only running water again I hope our club finds a way to get Tooves back into the fold. It doesn't have to be anything to do with coaching if that's how they feel but the guy epitomises what it means to be Manly and don't we need someone like that at the moment.

McCullough is the weak link in that group imo. They’ll go better when Hunt is on the field playing hooker.

My mate Jason Ferris is good mates with rowdy and said he's a top bloke . I dont think he really gets to involved with the political side of things , just cruises through enjoying life . Still loves manly and regrets his decisions back in the day . Doesn't seem to mind the great one either , Ladies and gentlemen Mr Daley cherry Evans....

He's coaching the u/16's isn't he ..... I know that they are probably under the auspices of the Junior league ..... but it is around the traps .... his DNA is still with us .....

We all come on this sacred Manly Sea eagle site to escape the hustle and bustle of life and focus on our beloved Sea eagles and have a bit of fun along the way .
I must confess though , whether I agree with all on here or not I find them all amusing Characters . Every one on here never ceases to amaze !!!

Thanks man you too

For the record its definitely Rowdy Shearer lol

He regularly posts on FB about his working out and staying in shape, including often posting topless pics of himself lol. While most ex-footballers tend to pile on the pounds after they retire, old Dale bucks the trend a bit and good on him too.

A few people keep telling him he should ring Barrett and tell him he's fit and ready.....just in case he's needed 😉

I wasn't aware of that Woodsie so it's good to know. I also think I read somewhere that Peter Peters maybe retiring from club duties at the end of the year so perhaps an olive branch will be extended.

Ah Rowdy, a colourful character.

As for next year's Origin all QLD have to say is they need to go with youth to get rid of DCE.

Its becoming more and more apparent to me that DCE's main enemy in the QLD mafia was one Cam Smith. This guy has always been seen as the clever manipulator, creating that popular façade of esteemed eminence, but its obvious that he wants it all his own way. Just look at the fall out with Cronk and Slater. I consider Smith one of the best players I've seen in the game, but I also consider him an arrogant manipulative bully. As said, he wants it all his own way and DCE, who is bright and assertive, was that challenge to Smith's empire, and we cant have that. I realise that often if you want to be king, you have to ensure others know their status. I suspect one of the issues with DCE is that he is his own man and didn't genuflect to the Almighty Master. DCE threatened his realm and he needed to be sent back to the servants quarters and learn his place in the order of things. But DCE also wants to be king...lets hope that aspiration doesn't make him the arrogant but very talented pr..k Smith has become

Sounds familiar doesn't it because just about the same thing happened at Manly with DCE and the senior clique. Doesn't do things their way so is ostracised. Unlike Qld though, Manly weren't about to just dump him.....though they almost did.

I know plenty hate the Proffesor show, but they're about to have DCE on, if you're interested.
