However the commentators will be onto him like vultures after full time, so interesting to see what he does say post match.

I imagine DCE pre-game prep will be him rehearsing his speech for full time.

I would love for DCE to stay at Manly and for us to pick up someone of Nate Myle's quality as a by product of that (and possibly Elgey as well).....but at the same time I wouldn't put it past someone like Orr who manages both to pull a stunt like this in order to get Myles a deal to stay with the GC.

The really sad thing about most player managers is that they are former players themselves. Orr himself played 13 first grade games for the Rorters back in 1991-92 as an outside back (http://www.rugbyleagueproject.org/players/gavin-orr/summary.html). The Rorters, that explains a lot about Orr doesn't it.....

And as for DCE's mum, of course she would want her baby boy to play for the GC. That way he's only an hour or so drive down the road from his parents and not living interstate.

Either way, I guess by the time Round 13 rolls around we will know one way or the other. Hopefully it all works out in Manly's favour.

Sorry Lurker but we will agree to disagree. More than likely already on the cards post JT retirement. All players go through periods of inconsistency and its not this which will judged them but rather their contribution to the game, their team, state and country.

It's not that simple. Manly were certain he was going and were looking to the future, therefore no contract currently sits on the table. It will take time for them to draw up a revised offer and come to an agreement. It's not a case of DCE simply accepting the old Manly offer, he will no doubt want a better deal if he is to stay, and it can take time for both parties to agree on the terms of any new proposed contract.

I tend to think it won't happen, but crazier things have happened in the past. If it is true, I doubt DCE and his manager would want this leaked, as a spotlight now rests on the situation, complicating matters. If the deal could be done on the quiet, they could simply advice the Titans, and get on with things. Now we have a media **** storm again.

I wont believe this until i hear it from DCE's gob.

Orr is a slimey weasel and he is not going to do us any favours as he stands to lose a lot if he renegs.

If he is staying he needs to say it and get into some of the form we know he is capable of.

If this is a red herring. The club must let him go straight away as this has the be the final thing done in this whole saga.

I have said a lot about DCE and I remain unhappy about his conduct. The fans want guys who are committed to the club. The time has come for a decision. No more mucking around.

I think getting Bozo on board has been telling in this so called about face. It is also a massive reason why the club has not announced any new signings.

The club has to come first now. I just want to support my team and not have to deal with this endless speculation.

The Mole (who does get plenty right) is adamant there is truth to the story. Neil Evans (former Sea Eagles media man) has backed the Mole's info. Whether it will eventuate is another matter but there is defiantly something to this story.

As stated earlier, Courier Mail journalists are reporting Manly are after Myles & Elgey. This forces the Titans to spend more money on Elgey (who they do want to keep) and perhaps Myles (who they apparently don't want) in an attempt to hang onto DCE.

Worst case they all stay at the Titans but they have to pay thru the nose to keep them. Best case, obviously all 3 end up at Manly.

Lets just wait and see what happens.

I wasn't saying never I just think next is a bit ridiculous lockyer > Thurston. I just think theres players before him who have won more premierships and had the origin and international success

Was at pub with a mate when I saw this as a news feed across the bottom of the tv. Came home and jumped on ST to get the latest. Went through 7 pages of is he / isn't he before jumping to last page to get the latest to find a back and forth of people abusing his mum. Seriously...have a look at yourselves. Regardless of your position in that debate, the fact you're a part of it and haven't just walked away says more about you than DCE or his family.

I would be PMSL for the rest of the year if that happened.

Whilst I think it's BS, I can see the Titans issue, they have paid huge money for Chery and can't now afford Myles.

Manly can afford Myles, DCE and LG.

Certainly interesting times
