This is a good point. I imagine Myles is privy to more than we know about the situation. He has probably had a chat with DCE, but it would be a poor look if he were to try get DCE to reneg.

He can't try and influence dce to stay unless manly gets him in as recruitment consultant, dce-Titans style

That didn't happen, so DCE will have a team built around him. All things being equal, in terms of legacy what would matter more to DCE, the MANLY Daly Cherry-Evans era or the Gold Coast DCE era?😉
Getting Myles and Lussick reduces potential doubts DCE might have about our forwards depth.
And it's not like he would be changing his mind on Brisbane or South Sydney who have half the league world and their pets as supporters.
And seriously, with modern media, all someone would have to do is film and release a youtube clip of a cat in a miniature rabbitohs jumper playing the piano and twirling a ball of wool at the same time just after the announcement, and any DCE backflip story would be halfway down the page before you blinked.😉

Mate was just on radio up here (GC) and saying how much of a good roster we have for next year. He only mentioned the forwards, mainly Bj.

The bottom line is we've recruited excellently over the years with big names (Lyon, Kite, etc) and have had good fortune in our recruitment of other youngsters at the time (Wolf, Hoppa, both from Parra juniors I believe). We will never always be the ones winning in this department, sometimes the tables get turned.

Also, the way in which GC secured Cherry with NRL help gives Manly every right to talk him out of it. This is not Manly V GC, its Manly vs the NRL, and I'm all for taking out the scum who bought Cherry with dirty money, deny us funding for Brookvale Oval, and invent stupid Rnd 13 back out rules to ensure we spend the majority of our time talking about who's going where and not the footy on the field.

Well I think the reason Cherry has gone to this extent in contract negotiations is the power base of Stewarts-Foran-Watmough that basically bullied him, and B. Stewart is still part of that camp based onbody language between the two.
He deserves a few mates on his side so he doesn't feel isolated and feels more at home.

I applaud Manly for going as hard as they can to change Daly's mind. After he agreed to terms with the Titans, they gloated like the selfish, soul less pig of a club they are, then went out of there way to block us getting Elgey.
They deserve to be ****ed over and lose Sezar as well as pissing away their club captain.
