I'm very conflicted about Suli leaving us tbh, we all know what he is capable of. But we have 2 very reliable centres who are first rate defenders. Suli on the other hand offers a bit of x factor in attack, but at times can be found wanting in defence. Anyway will leave this problem to Des and our recruitment and retention team, I'm sure they'll make the right decision.

Illawarra has two SOO-quality centres at the moment, Lomax and Bird. He'll find it harder to crack a centre spot at Illawarra then at Manly.

It's tempting to feel disappointed with Suli's impending departure after he showed what he is capable of last week. I doubt we win that game the other night with Parker out there. It was Suli's big break that led to some much needed field position when the game was in the balance. However, in a serious game (a semi-final or GF) can you imagine the odds of him screwing up in defence and costing us big time? I reckon very short odds.

Bird is nowhere close to being a SOO centre at present. I could name at least ten who are in front of him.
well he (Bird) was a few years ago ,but regardless where would they play Suli and or Bird together in that back line ,given they have got some youth comeing thru from what I hear.
I don't really rate Bird tbh ,I still would like to see if Suli can string a few weeks and wins together for us before we let him go .It would be good to see Suli on the end of a Tommy play and see the wreckage left of the other team .I mean we have put alot of time and effort into him when he was younger and now he starting to mature a bit (hopefully) bottom feeders like the goons are all over him ,makes me sick
