As a fan of this footy club I have always followed my criteria of not pointing fingers towards players that play for our club. However, I must admit the last few weeks I have been very close to bagging quite a few, these have been some testing times as a Sea Eagle supporter.

On the bright side, I almost fell off my chair when I saw Jakey put in that magical kick that actually found the in goal; I think Garick was just as surprised and knocked the bloody ball on.

Hoppa isn’t the messiah. His value went down today I’d say.

He looked like a young kid who was playing against men who hadn’t played a game in a long time. There was a reason Des hadn’t played him and we saw that tonight. He was absolutely blowing at the back end of the first. Anyway at least he has the game under his belt. I thought live Funa looks sharp and has a bit of size about him. Don’t know why all the DCE bashing watching live he is clearly the only one running this side and trying to create. It’s clearly too much for him. I’m far from sold on Cust and would actually welcome Foran back as a mentor for schuster/cust etc. anyway the venue was great and the storm outside backs impressive and so bloody fast! They will be tough to beat again. And I hate saying this but would rather them than Easts.

Our season is done....to be honest personally I think it was weeks ago. There’s no point holding our youngsters back now. Olakau’atu, Hoppa, Schuster, Funa need to play the last 4 games to give them as much 1st grade experience as possible & prep them for next year. Rest AFB, Siro & Marty.....same with Tom & Walkz! No more fvcking excuses like too risky to play them now!

Agreed. Cut out a lot of the errors, including 3 bombed tries, and that game was a lot closer than the final score suggests.

Storm took their chances and we let a few go begging.
We made some clangers actually, notably from some of our less experienced players, and that undid a lot of our hard work.
Storm are good enough to make you pay.

I was watching live mate.....yeah Siro was to blame for the missed tackles, backs out of position, slow to get to kicks plus plus plus. Yeah it’s all Siro!

Funa should only play centre for the remainder of the season and Molé should start on an edge. They are the two most likely to be of use to us next year and we should use the rest of this cluster fock of a season to give them as much experience as possible. May as well play AHop and Schuster as well. Anyone with a niggle should be benched where possible. Time to start working towards 2021.

The hookers are killing any attacking fluency.
We would look so much better with Faniu, Tom, Walker and a fit Suli. Not to be this year.
Tom has been missed obviously, but Walker defence at 5/8 was vital as he was fast and was very solid one on one in that position, ad of course Faniu was such a better select passer and dangerous around the ruck.

We can't hold the ball, we can't build pressure, we can't buy a repeat set of six and we can't score tries. But the attack, or lack of it, is not our biggest problem.

Defensively, we are truly awful. I'm not sure if it's a complete loss of confidence in ourselves and our systems (assuming we have any), but even when we get a relatively equal share of possession (usually in the first 10 minutes of a game), the opposition look like they can run around us any time they please, on either side of the field. Our only line speed is in reverse - when we're jogging backwards waiting for the other side to do something. And on top of that, we can't count - no matter where the ball is shifted, we are always outnumbered.

Whatever Des managed to get out of these blokes last year has evaporated and I'm not sure how he's going to get it back.

But I’d keep Funa at fb for a couple more then put Hoppa in. Live Funa looked sharp on occasion

Sadly all our backs looked pedestrian today against the quicker opposition .
Our season is well and truly over as we can not compete for a top 8 spot with this inconsistent lot
