I've been very critical of the Sea Eagles of late. Today I am not. This Melbourne side had all of its best players back and they also had 10% more ball than Manly had. Sure Manly blundered a lot but they held a potential premiership side at full strength for most of the match. I liked what I saw of Funa, Albert will benefit from the run. They are part of Manly's future I feel, if they stay. Many are criticising DCE but its interesting that he received almost double the fantasy points of his opposite half and quite a bit more than Munster. Its all about perception. Personally I think DCE is doing as best he can with a struggling side, without three of its key players. I think Manly were much better than they've been in quite a while. Gives me hope, that with the infusion of a couple of these young players, Manly will be far more competitive next year..

Get off Siro’s back mate! He was good tonight & tackled himself to a standstill! WTF do want from the guy.....if you wanna bag then bag the backs!
The only thing I have against Sirro is his tendency to run away from his supports, surely that's a coaching thing

I don’t think it’s fair or constructive to criticise the players because they’re not as big or as fast as the Storm players wearing the same numbers. The Storm have multiple feeder teams full of professional footballers many of whom - like Haynes - have been cherry picked from othe teams. By comparison some of our players are there because they weren’t good enough to to make it other teams.

What annoys me isn’t the lack of natural ability and speed but the lack of heads up play. How often do we throw a pass to a player who is in a worse position. Look at Cherry’s long kicks. The Storm knew he would kick right to left and they were there waiting for the ball. But Cherry still put the kick down their throats. So often we seem to just go through the motions without looking to see if there’s a better play available. How good would it be to have someone like Smith calling the plays.

funa is athletic and strong runner, i would persist with him as a centre moving forward and work on his defence, runs some good lines in attack, as least tries to run hard

As much as I like Parker, I think Funa has many more tries in his career than Parker will or would ever score. And if Walker does stay then I think he'll be the 5/8 (at least, that seems to be where Des wants him).

Right now, next year is looking something like

Turbo
Hopoate / Funa
Funa
Suli
Garrick / Funa / Hopoate
Walks
DCE

Even that is miles better than what we currently have.

Shocking.
Sooo disheartening.
5th loss in a row.
It's never ending.
I agree with the people talking about speed. We have none and we need to find some answers.
No excuses for Manly. We're just not there and we need to improve 1000%.
But there's something wrong with this competition at the moment. It's not a competition and almost every result is predictable.
Scorelines from this weekend.
38-0
10-14 - the only close game.
58-12
36-6
28-12 - not terrible
30-6
30-6

This is not a good competition. It's predictable with blowout scores every week. Would I love it if Manly were beating people 58-0. Yes. But questions have to be asked about these score lines.
For us all to be on the same playing field something needs to be done about third party deals, the current set-up only favours the few

I don’t profess to being a rugby league expert I agree but to portray one of our better players today as ‘a’ reason for our loss when our backs were a useful as a bull with tit$ gets me riled up for sure!

Siro, one of our better players today?

What video were you watching?

Agreed. Cut out a lot of the errors, including 3 bombed tries, and that game was a lot closer than the final score suggests.

Ya
PS I thought the team went pretty well but just off the pace this year. Good to see some heart.
