Game Day: Storm v Manly [Round 16, 2020]

Hoppa isn’t the messiah. His value went down today I’d say.

Its his 1 st game in 2 years and his 1st NRL game .
While he didnt set up 3 trys and score 2 himself and save 5 ,I think he did ok and will be better for the run .Which I think is the main point given our position .
Funa wow he really has some good parts to his game ,good under high ball,strong run back ,defence needs some work ,but a bit to like but best suited at center I think .
Jorge has to go I think although if Garrick is out he will keep his spot probably

He may have tackled himself to a standstill, but he killed a lot of the attack with his continued cutting back inside when he has unmarked players outside him. At least 4-5 times tonight we had overlaps that never got used because he didn't even think about looking outside and passing.

agree, hoping someone like Shuster can change that next year. Quac should be on the bench too

I must be watching a different game lol 3 misses each, another 2 ineffective for sirro, and continually letting the ball shift to our vulnerable halves. Check out what thommo was doing last year, or any other strong edge defender

funa is athletic and strong runner, i would persist with him as a centre moving forward and work on his defence, runs some good lines in attack, as least tries to run hard

I will say give funa a chance at centre he is not a fullback but I agree @BOZO never seem a team attack so reliant on one player.

It's hurts so much this season but I just know we will be back.

Sad sad times for this club I love.

Emotions aside... In hindsight, I'm happy to see Hoppa got a run today. Yeah, he made some mistakes and looked shakey in defence at times, but that doesn't surprise me in the circumstances. As I said previously, the rest of the season (and the past month or so to be honest), should be about giving the young guys first grade experience. I was also happy to see Funa get quite a bit of game this year, and wouldn't mid seeing others come in now. We have to give all these kids as much game time as possible to see how they pan out for our plans moving forward (and I hope we have a plan).

Wouldn’t make any first grade team in the league at the moment. Give him a year or so in reggies.

Which top 8 team would Funa replace in the centres or anywhere in the back line ?
If we need to be a top 8 contender we need top 8 players

Just stirring here but I thought young Hoppa was going to score about 6 tries and that him not being on the field is the reason we're going so crap.
