Yeah , some countries obviously have fared so much better then others either through a combination of better management health procedures ,, location or luck . Hearing different and varying reports on the range of vaccines either already released or about to be and can only assume have only been released with the most stringent testing and approval standards . Fortunate to live in a region that hod no local reported cases at least to now , pretty cautious about most types of vaccines and still have relative good health now but this pandemic has to be treated seriously on all levels .

Some oxygen thief got a test in Vancouver, it came back positive for covid. 2 days later he drove to a ski resort. Answered 'no' to all the are you feeling sick/do you have covid questions.
Went skiing, he crashed and got hurt. Told the ski patrol people he didn't have covid, then told the docs and nurses that he didn't have covid.

Doc checked his medical records and found out that he indeed had covid.

When he demanded from the idiot wtf was going on he said: "oH YeAh bUt i tHoUgHt sKiInG MeAnT I WaS 'sElF IsOlAtInG'"

The moron should be fined, gaoled, and put last on the list of people who get vaccinated. I swear I could fire a bazooka into this amoeba's head and sleep soundly at night.

I think I heard Norman Swan say that the vaccine stops you from getting sick with the virus but doesn't stop you spreading it.

That's what I read too. There are going to be some very interesting public policy decisions coming up I think - e.g., if 50% of the population are vaccinated, do you open up the country and accept the risk to the other 50%?

Far out, that makes me angry. That excuse may have flown in early March 2020 when I think there was a lack of understanding as to what isolate truly meant but obviously not now. (OK, only the numbnuts didn't understand what isolate truly meant but there are lots of them...)

A dentist from WA was put in the slammer for 4 months for continuing to treat patients after being diagnosed with COVID. Fair enough too.

The fact that the 30 new cases are confined to the northern beaches is are a positive because if it gets out in Sydney you’ll all be experiencing a Melbourne type lockdown , and it won’t be for 7 days either!!

What the hell is wrong with our security and quarantine? There should be zero exemptions from 14 days isolation upon arrival from overseas including cabin crew. It’s not rocket science.

Yeah couldn’t believe that when I heard. Why wouldn’t mandatory testing for our cabin crews (especially overseas), not be a must.

Dumbness or selfishness knows no bounds...... One of my kids works casually at Ji Bi Hi Fi up at Belrose, yesterday he was dealing with a customer who wasn't wearing a mask and after quite some time serving him, this clown casually told him that after shopping because he had recently been out and in close contact with a mate who has COVID he had to go and have a COVID test. My kid asked him what he was doing in the store and the guy said "he thought it was OK to go there before the test because after he had would have to wait for the result and may not be able to get back before Xmas ......?

I was coming up from Melbourne to see my family in 3 days for the first time in 12 months (and introduce our now one-year-old son) after spending most of the year in lockdown here in melbourne.

Flights and accommodation have just been cancelled, as we would have to do a hotel quarantine just to get home. FFS. This year is crap.

This is a difficult time for the beaches. Avalon is my home town and it saddens me that the virus broke out there and people are in potential danger.

This is a difficult time for the beaches. Avalon is my home town and it saddens me that the virus broke out there and people are in potential danger.
