Good hit out. I thought we lacked a little bit of composure at times and once we become clinical in the attacking zone we will be very hard to beat. The 6 again rule is too easily used as an evener or as a mercy rule.

I might be in the minority but I thought Walker tried too hard tonight.
Needs to be a bit more selective and play more simply.

Hopefully he's better next week.
I thought he was better than DCE tonight. He does tend to default to a cross field run if first option doesn;'t eventuate, which makes him an easy target. But when he straightened and took on the line tonight he threw some nice balls and created some good chances.

A good solid 7/10 performance from the boys tonight. We were unlucky not to have scored another 2 or 3 tries and with some good goal kicking we weren't that far off a 50 point win.

Solid effort for first round back after ISO. Dogs a handy opponent to build match fitness and clean out the cobwebs.

First half was a little messy, completion rate a bit low too. Some silly mistakes. But first 40mins in weeks.

Second half, got back to basics and some good signs. Just need to hold the ball and not play silly footy. The new rules benefit possession more than ever.

There was probably 12-18 points more in that game, but its first game.

It was the game we needed and we will be better going into next week. Great to get the win and the health F/A.

Not since Blake Green we have been able to apply controlled pressure with repeat sets. I really hope this is an area that we have been working on and improve in. Great to watch when we roll the ball into the in goal for the repeat set and make them tackle to a stand still setting up the game.
You can also see the game plan with Walker trying to catch their winger out by putting the kick in behind the line. Des knows their rushing defence and we did the same last year with Elgy setting up a couple throwing harbour bridge cut outs over the rushing defence.
Dogs need to change their ways because they will get picked apart every week.

Really, with the team we have, our master coach and staff, and the fact that Tom, Jake, AFB and a couple of others would be fully healed by now, i can only expect Manly to absolutely pulverize the Bulldogs tonight. If we are on our game we will win by 40+. If we play at 75% we will win by 24-30 pts. If we only play for 40 mins we will win by 12-20.

My prediction - Manly 48 Bulldogs 12

But a scoreline of 60 - 6 in favour of Manly would not surprise me at all.
Played at 75% then. Yeah, seems about right.

Lot of Walker love tonight. Went ok but.....

Happy to be in minority but i will say it again. He's not a 5/8. He's an Australian rep 3/4 shoehorned into a position that he's not designed for.
Too many times he panics and runs around clueless. Look at that kick on tackle 1 tonight. Shocking decision.
How any of you can honestly say he's a good playmaker is beyond me. He's not really doing a job for DCE by being the dedicated playmaker.

Look at what we had when we won stuff.

Cliffy was a god in that position, Foran was as hard and talented as they come. Killer was possibly the most naturally gifted player in the world at the time which allowed him to do a great job at 5/8 but in the end even he recognised he was a better centre.

Im not bashing on DW im just not prepared to look through rose coloured glasses.

YEEEEES!

Footy tis back and we had a nice win with no injuries! (just finished watching).

Whatever Tom did during the break, bottle and sell it.

I know Dylan and Des like the Dylan as a 5/8th project, and it is coming along but boy oh boy do I like seeing him in open space. He's such a... terrier when he runs. I'd still be happy if he stayed at centre.

I thought (hard to type this next bit) that Cecchin reffed a pretty good game.

Practise yer kicking Garrick or Ella will change her avatar!

Very happy.
