Fair points. Seibs has had it tough with injuries, but I get the concern about whether he can take Manly to that next level. The real challenge is finding a proven coach who’s both available and the right fit, not easy in today’s market.

They have quality players no doubt (not sure you could put Cobbo in the list after his last 12 months though) but Madge has had them winning with half a team of nufties at times too...

for example, when they beat the Phins in r24 they had:
Karapani - in an out of NRL first grade
Shibasaki - first year of NRL
Mariner - hot and cold since he came into NRL
Walters - decent but never been considered an NRL-standard 6
Paix - in an out of NRL first grade
GOSIEWSKI - say no more
Smoothy - NRL clubs are not exactly lining up for him
Hetherington - decent but no star
Talty - first year of NRL?
Jaiyden Hunt - in an out of NRL first grade

I would say that this line up has/had as many holes in it as the one that Siebs is dealing with...
Others that I reckon Madge has improved this year are Staggs (particularly on 2024), Ben Hunt, Corey Jensen, Piakura and Xavier Willison as they all seem to have had their best year (well for Hunt it is his best year since he was playing alongside Corey Norman or Gareth Widdop)..

Personally I reckon that Seibs has maybe improved TKO? Koula? Plenty of players that actually went backwards this year though...

Dis Seibs actually improve Koula though? I think he will improve year on year based upon raw talent alone. For me, great coaches are those who get lesser talents punching above their weight. Elite talent will naturally get better in any NRL system. I think Koula will be among the top three centres in the game next year. He is an explosive athlete with a genuine footy players brain.

I don’t disagree… I was just trying to be fair in my assessment and those two players were better in 2025 then they were in 2024 (I assume TKO was, can’t say I watched him at catalans though in 2024)…
