Not sure why it would cost us Hodgkinson as the knights would have to pay most of his salary for next year if we take him He isn't worth more than $150k in his present condition

Nah, ex Origin player, hero in fact. Gotta be worth $800k. At least that is the way the NRL will play the Manly loading.

MANLY have almost certainly cost themselves the chance at signing Trent Hodkinson or Todd Carney after revelations of salary cap rorting.

We had $800k to offer Pearce. Apparently we may have up to $400k added to our cap. I wouldn't have thought we'd pay Hodkinson or Carney over $400k... maths?

The Daily Telegraph understands the Sea Eagles’ salary cap breaches are very similar, albeit on a smaller scale, to the Parramatta Eels’ situation of 2016 where the club has become involved in organising third-party payments.

Parra were doing more than that. They were falsifying invoices. This sounds more similar to what Penrith did for Moylan and is now openly doing for Moloney with Keno.

It’s believed the Sea Eagles are in breach by up to $400,000, which, as part of its punishment, the NRL will put on to next year’s salary cap.

To put that in perspective, Bulldogs 2002 rort was $2.13m, Warriors 2005 rort was $1.1m, Melbourne 2010 rort was $3.78m, Eels rort was $3m.

makes hodkinson a better chance in my eyes as it would only leave a couple of hundred left for next year.

If Newcastle pay most of his salary, he will be the only one we could afford.

What happened to the so called other clubs that were supposed to be over as well. Remember, we were one of several clubs that were being investigated, but we were the only club investigated. Hence maybe the reason why Cullen has been released. Come on Manly show some balls and ask the NRL some questions . Ask what happened to the other clubs they were supposedly over the cap. Hang on, I forgot, its the off season again. What would an off season be without disrupting our preparation, silly me...:swear::swear::lipssealed::lipssealed::finger::finger:

The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles were advised by the NRL today of their preliminary findings in relation to its ongoing salary cap investigation.

Sea Eagles CEO Lyall Gorman said today:

“We were advised of the alleged breach by the NRL this morning and immediately convened our legal team to thoroughly review the breach notice and detailed files given to us by the NRL.

Based on our legal team’s preliminary review, there is disagreement with several of the NRL findings and consistent with our rights under the NRL rules and regulations have commenced a path of legal review and response.

As we have consistently stated, if there are historical compliance issues, we will work both internally and with the NRL to identify those issues and remedy them.

There is a significant amount of material to work through, based on the documentation handed to us today and the Club will be defending those matters through the appropriate channels.

Whilst the normal breach notice protocol is 5 days to respond, the Club will be seeking an extension to ensure we can deliver a robust response to the allegations.”

Someone needs to start a petition to demand the NRL expose player salaries including TPAs to show what clubs are paying per average for their players including TPAs. How many are being investigated when Maloney came out and put Penrith in the ****e is beyond me... Everyone knows that the Broncos are rorting the TPA situation and yet nothing done. Greedturd is such a tosser.
