It was claimed that the Sea Eagles were putting up barriers after orchestrated leaks that the club was refusing to hand over personal phones and computers of staff to the investigators.

Scott Penn says Manly is comfortable with their position. Picture: Braden Fastier.

“There is a clear policy around players and how players personal data is treated,” Penn said.

“But there isn’t clear delineation over club officials, and particularly clubs officials who are consultants and or who have multiple businesses.

“That is a process we are working through and we are getting regular advice regarding privacy and access.

“We couldn’t hand things over until we understood the legal implications.”

Penn pointed out that the NRL been handed copies of all the club issued material, the accounting system, all contracts, laptops and mobile phones.

Significantly Penn said the club a very clear discussion with the NRL about confidentiality and keeping things under wraps.

nice...just need all those retractions from the media now.

Awfully quiet on this front? The work has been done to derail the season and they have backed off so it's not obvious when they find nothing..

If history is anything to go by, the next announcement will be front page headline about an investigation into the alleged use of performance enhancing drugs at Manly (probably based entirely on unsubstantiated comments made by a disgruntled former associate of the club), and about half way through that announcement they will say we have been cleared of any salary cap wrongdoing.

Expect it to come out around this time next year with the finals around the corner, or possibly a little earlier if we are doing well.

As Manly Owners pay all bills out of their own pocket (after Salary Cap and TPAs), they can't throw more cash at players from Not For Profit Leagues Club revenue like Parra etc

The NRL need to make a formal statement clearing Manly and have the smh hacks print it :wait:

Fieran was just mentioned on 7 News as the player under investigation due to his links with Hayson.

No real surprises there. They mentioned his third party issues with the club.
