It was claimed that the Sea Eagles were putting up barriers after orchestrated leaks that the club was refusing to hand over personal phones and computers of staff to the investigators.

“There is a clear policy around players and how players personal data is treated,” Penn said.
“But there isn’t clear delineation over club officials, and particularly clubs officials who are consultants and or who have multiple businesses.
“That is a process we are working through and we are getting regular advice regarding privacy and access.
“We couldn’t hand things over until we understood the legal implications.”
Penn pointed out that the NRL been handed copies of all the club issued material, the accounting system, all contracts, laptops and mobile phones.
Significantly Penn said the club a very clear discussion with the NRL about confidentiality and keeping things under wraps.
