Maybe Penn and BOZO already had prior plans with their general activities and are just treating this present and apparent witch hunt with the disdain and indifference that it deserves and probably can not see the point in wasting any more club resources and administration personal related time on the matter. In any case another club official has already been nominated to deal with any specific and general issues . Any of the club"s office staff"s prescribed and set duties are a separate issue and should really have no connection or relevance with any current N R L supposed professional and non prejudicial investigation in relation to Manly .

Firstly they did demand sacked staff hand over their phones and laptops. The bullying was intense. Secondly to make the comment about Bozo and privilege taking leave - you obviously haven't worked in the football business. In the world of rugby league it is a huge no to take time off during season. Besides which what gives him the right to take time off over Trent Barrett or anyone in the front office during the season?

So were phones and laptops handed back by those staff issued to them by club?

If so to demand them back is totally reasonable! Every business does it.

If the employees had their own laptops/phones (that they purchased) asked to be handed back then that is another matter.

I have no inside info on this but it really does seem odd.

It was claimed that the Sea Eagles were putting up barriers after orchestrated leaks that the club was refusing to hand over personal phones and computers of staff to the investigators.

“There is a clear policy around players and how players personal data is treated,” Penn said.

“But there isn’t clear delineation over club officials, and particularly clubs officials who are consultants and or who have multiple businesses.

“That is a process we are working through and we are getting regular advice regarding privacy and access.

“We couldn’t hand things over until we understood the legal implications.”


Penn pointed out that the NRL been handed copies of all the club issued material, the accounting system, all contracts, laptops and mobile phones.

Significantly Penn said the club a very clear discussion with the NRL about confidentiality and keeping things under wraps.
