Salary Cap Witch Hunt. **Appeal unsuccessful**

It doesn't surprise me, I said they had nothing other than Manly making a few technical errors that they could be fined for, but if they do they have set a precedent, which will have clubs like the donkeys and storm **** themselves with their TPA's.

They've got nothing and Manly should sue for damages.

If we are getting off you can bet this will be massive egg on Greenslimes face.

If we are exonerated completely I think we should start a petition or something to be delivered to the commission calling for his resignation.

This twat has had it in for us ever since he came to power and the club should also sue for damage caused to the brand.

But, I bet there will be some shady deal go on and it will simply be swept under the carpet!

What will happen is a press conference saying that the NRL's resources are being utilised to resolve the impasse with the NRL Commission, and any commentary on the Salary Cap rorting by Manly will be dealt with at a more appropriate time.

This way it still leaves the cloud over our team, an inability to buy a couple of players prior to the start of the season (hamstringing us), and gives the NRL time to find a solution for their labialise and derogatory comments.

My mail is a donation to an upgrade to Brookie (without any admissions by the NRL that they made a mistake) maybe considered.

He will need to resign.

And prepare his defence for because I am sure Penn will have him in court pretty damn quick for damaging his brand.

As I said, some shady deal.

Protects his arse, and doesn’t do much for our brand.

And the upgrade to Brookie should happen anyway.

****ing piece of ****, hope it does force a resignation!!

The fact that two extensions have now been provided does seem to add an unusual and even strange element to the whole matter . I can not recall a similar precedent in process over what in essence seems a relatively low grade cap discrepancy assertion . Who knows what is going on behind the scenes and the fact that Joe Kelly is now at the Roosters but still remains a really unacceptable situation with the N R L induced protracted process and the blatant and totally avoidable disadvantages and harm that has been then inflicted on the Manly club .

I confess to not having taken notice of the details .. but is it correct that these serious and grave charges of salary cap rorting is all over about $80k per year? ..... and this TPA was registered but is now contested?

If so that is a breach (even if we are as quilty as) of less than 1% of the cap ....

In what sort of fukcked up GreenTurd fantasy world is a breach of 1% a grave case of rorting!!!!!!!!!

Media management.

It would make them look bad if it was perceived that they actually just did nothing and let this fester for 2 years, only for the club to be found innocent of all accusations. Not to mention the immense financial burden on the club during this time.

If we are found not guilty, it will be seen to that the news will be buried as quick as possible. Most likely behind another big story as a distraction.
Like “Manly to sign NRL bad boy and troubled star Todd Carney”

Think about it this way. How much of the NRL's money (gate takings, sponsorships, memberships etc) did Greenburg filter out of the game, to line one of his own employees pockets on the commission (the NON independent auditor) to have potentially found nothing?

Surely that then equates to corruption?
This should have been throughally scrutinized and can only surely be interpreted as an obvious conflict of interest and yet Greenberg and his cronies preach to others to maintain proper standards and conduct .

It's all about those one percenters! (every coach ever) lol.

So sometime during the cam-jt testimonial Manly shall be cleared but it'll have to be in a way where the nrl say "Ok, they've been bad in the spirit of the tpa's if not technically within the confines of the tpa parametres"

Then the nrl will say "This is why we have announced previously a revamp of the tpa system so clubs understand the rules better. However the nrl are proud of our own efforts to keep the game clean and whilst some may see this as a long drawn out process, it is imperative that the nrl always conduct thorough investigations into salary cap issues to maintain the transparent integrity that our game is known for."

they will then pat themselves on the back, increase their pay, go back to the petty squabbles currently going on and the rest of us will throw up and hope for a good year.

Im happy its a slow process. Whats more important for me is not how long the nrl takes but how long manly took. They obviously have a legal stance substantiated by laywers rather than NRL bullies.

The Nrl has to be very careful in how they respond and will need to show just cause rather than just todds way.

I would feel there is a lot more at stake than just manlys cap issues. If the 15 clubs had banded together to challenge the verdict of todd toward parra , i suggest the outcome would have been very different , but of course the current playing field is a house of cards waiting to tumble so no club needs that **** with player manages seemingly holding much dirt and too many aces.

The roosters hired a qc for joe kelly so you would have some inkling that they are protecting there way of life as much as they are protecting Joe.

The whole tpa needs to avoid large court battles or many heads will roll and whats left of the games integrity will pass like a brookvale pie on a Monday. While the networks ( the real boss of the game ) dont give a stuff about manly they have paid handsomely For the rights and can not risk this becomming a major event about the game rather than just one club

Manly will be exonerated purely because they brought the fight legally to the nrl which essentially takes it out of todds hands.

The tpa system is flawed, the adjudication of this process more so. The nrl need to put a lid on this before it becomes a fire they cant put out without sacrafice from within.

All that remains is saving face. That will take some more news leaks, some public positioning. Id expect whoever leaked this **** to toddles will be in the firing line form here on

That is almost the exact scenario I have envisaged ....

PSS You weren't GreenTurd in a previous life were you?????

I indeed love your work buddy, probably exactly the situation as exists.

Well written!

Greenturd is too busy to work on Manly's response at the moment as he is devoting all of his time to trying to convince people to attend Grants farewell dinner
