Salary Cap Witch Hunt. **Appeal unsuccessful**

Penn only owns the shares to the club, he doesn't own the Brand - the NRL does. What the NRL have done is damaged their own brand.

I was under the impression Penn is the majority shareholder of the franchise license from the NRL which a team can compete under. The name, logo, brand, colours etc for the team under that licence is from the shareholders that own that licence?

I could be wrong though.

That doesn't make sense!
The keyboard keys stay the same size! 😛
so there
sigh

why do I have to cook dinner 🙁

Can't hire a cook, no space under the celery cap
.

Because I'm sure you all want to know....

Last night I cooked myself Steak, chips, corn, peas, gravy, and an egg.

I gave my better half some chips (which take ages to make when you deep fry them from scratch) and then dropped the rest on the floor. 🙁

I'm now being investigated for breach of the TPA's (Totally Pathetic Aim)

You are not wrong. Penn Sports is the major partner of the NRL Franchise.

The NRL that own all Logos as Arko and Quayle weren't savvy enough to take out branding licences or non-compete clauses in the ARL Player contracts :banghead:

The NRL have to approve any use of the Logo, the Brand name - as they own it. If you remember in Beaver's last year and the following, Manly negotiated with Beaver and his wife to establish Sea Eagles Home Loans, they even passed out advertising around Brookie at a Home Game, anyway after 4 months the NRL closed them down because they didn't have right to use the Brand name.

Looks that way , so if were cleared of any wrong doing id expect Carney to be announced to us , going off a couple of journos that have him signed with manly.

Yes the jouno’s do sometimes come up with bull**** in the player market but you’d have to think if Todd has a chance to come back it would only be with Manly (due to the circumstances.

If and if we snare Carney , where do you see him in regards to no preseason with manly ?. It would be a challenge in itself to walk in and pick up where he hasn't picked up. No combinations with the side

Could not and should not play game 1. Needs to train with the side for a minimum of 2-4 weeks before being considered.

Although I guess if we are 0 from 2 or 0 from 3 and young Croker isn’t handling the pressure then he might be fast tracked.

Personally I hope Croker nails it, but you’d have to agree it’s a bloody big ask!!

Have to agree with that. There is no rush and Baz would want everyone to be on the same page, which can only happen with training and combos getting sorted.

Besides, it isn't a good idea to have the build up to season start with say Croker aiming for the position he looks to have deservedly secured only to have the rug replaced with a bubbler right at the last minute.

Bet your bottom dollar part of any deal with allowing Carney to play would be a set period i.e 6 weeks at Blacktown as a probation period.

Our best bet for a solid start would be to run with Croker for the first few weeks and see if Carney can take his spot away from him.

I can't get past the paywall to see it.
