[Resurrected] SACK Des Hasler!!

Good lord what a sad state of affairs this thread has become

I am torn between going through and cleaning up all of the incredible petty and downright pathetic comments and leaving them up as an example of how not to interact with each other

Make your point move on and do it without insulting each other. Not sure what is so hard?

@lsz Perhaps give most of the comments from 110 through 112 a thread of their own? I think they all make some pretty reasonable points, well hidden as they are, amongst the rest of the emotional detritus.

I apologise to the rest of the site for this dribble above.
I do not suffer fools very well and was provoked.
I love you all.
"The End"
If you don't like what he says. Just block him. Ryan / MOD really cares about the club. I reckon he's on the same page. as you. How about just leave the abuse out? No one comes here for that ****.

For what it’s worth , glad Dessie wasn’t sacked !
We'll be able to tell very early on, whether the club as a whole has moved on, and there is no excuses now. We'll have very little player turnover (players coming in), so chemistry and consistency can't be a concern or excuse, and we should hit the ground running.

If not, and we get off to a slow start, then it'll prove that the strategy to keep (and worse - extend) Hasler was a mistake and short sighted.

Nothing any of us can say or do now, as the proof will be in the pudding going forward.

I personally thought we needed fresh ideas, fresh game structures and plans, and a coach that could unite the playing group, but others don't. We'll all see how it goes.

@Merchant Of Doom I agree with you on the necessity of fresh ideas, fresh game structures and plans for 2023. All of these things must happen for us to improve next season. Where we differ is that I really feel that removing Des after the annus horriblis we have just been through was 100% the wrong thing to do.

The club is fractured, and team unity was/is completely shattered. Punting Des might have felt good in the short-term, but that action would have triggered a massive **** fight for football department control. The club in its weakened state, might not have had the capacity to get over the loss of senior players that would have occurred.

As you know I am not a Des disciple. I didn't want him back, and I have been highly critical of many aspects of his coaching over time. That will continue. Pragmaticly, the timing was wrong, and I shudder to think what would have happened to team composition, if that button was pushed. My two cents.

Very challenging times for the club with the media baying for blood. It certainly does not appear it’s going to be a boring off season. Even if it is…..the media will have people thinking otherwise. Well I guess its a good opportunity for Des to invoke the old siege mentality us against them and come out firing next year. I know there are some on here who want to see the back of Des ASAP and they are of course entitled to this opinion. I doubt there is any who would want us to fail next year so they can claim bragging rights…..

The life of a mod. With all the celebratory weeks and subsequent jerseys to support I think the game should have a week to celebrate refs. Why not? We can call it Referees and game day officials respect week. During this week we could also take time to pay homage to the site staff and owners. Kisses from RED PILL…

Des is “not a tooma”

I’m not convinced Des will be with us in 2023.
Yeah, doesn't sound like anything is settled and that the Meeting of Great Minds (Penn, Mestrov and Mimis) achieved precisely **** all.

It's a mess, and likely to remain so until one side or the other blinks: Des walks or Penn pays Des to walk. Neither seems particularly likely, so we'll presumably be stuck with the bitterness and dysfunction that worked so well for us this year.

And in all this, I can't help but wonder, does anyone actually care about making a great, WINNING, Manly footy team?

Squad is not due to resume training until early November [ excluding rep players ] so having available coaches is hardly relevant . Not too sure why Des would have to rely on guys like Chad Randell and Monas , really should be his own man with his level of coaching experience now . if Des has set conditions on retaining current support staff ., just asking for problems [ intentionally or not ] and hardly the position of encouraging some resolutions . Manly must have one of the most porous defences in the comp even allowing for all of the key outs at different stages so some serious reviews there would be mandatory surely . Anyway ,probably a bit hard to distinguish between what is actually happening behind the scenes and just some speculation or unfounded claims .
