Ohhhh are we doing comparisons are we? Ok let’s have a look at a few...
Your man, the man, the one and only T Barrett-
Barrett-69 games coached, 41 losses, 28 wins.40.6% win record.
Flanagan- 178 games coached, 78 losses, 97 wins, 2 draws and a drought breaking premiership, 54.5% win loss record.

All stats up to date via rugbyleagueproject.Org

Enough said really, isn’t it.

Good smother and subject change .....but being a bit simple .. I don't know how you win your point by changing to a different oneand then saying see .. I told you so ....

must be a new type of logic ..

Well ... if it is so easy .... why didn't Flannigan coach HIS team how to close out a game .... Flannigan must be Shiite at game plans and mental toughness ....
To be fair... Cronulla have won twice as many games as we have and sit two points outside the top four. Flanagan is also a premiership winning coach who delivered the Sharkies their first trophy. I can’t stand Flanagan... but so far, Trent Barrett and co have failed dismally two years out of three, and despite finishing sixth last season, lost his one and only finals game. Comparing Barrett to Flanno is like comparing a Malvern Star pushbike to a Ducati.

Totally agree mate but woodsie's post was meant to be sarcastic and he probably agrees with you too.

Poor smother and shiiit sidestep...

You made a comparison with Barrett and Flanagan about there ability to close games out.
I gave stats alluding to the fact that Flanagan far far out points Barrett in closing games out.

Stats don’t lie old balls..

Sorry Kevie ... my comment had absolutely no reference to who is the best coach ... I simply replied to the comment that Baz was to blame for not teaching the team how to close out the game, or have the game plan or mental toughness to do it ...

Clearly then ... by that same argument .... were I to accept it .... then I would have to apply it in spades to Flannagan .... who's team actually lost the game ..

Yes champion... I’m a little on the slow side today.

G'day All,

I have just got home from an interesting afternoon at my mates 55th birthday at a watering hole out Penrith way. Now I will preface this with the words allegedly and heresay. I had a lengthy chat with a person who is heavily involved with senior footy out that way. I reminded them of yesterdays game and my love of the mighty Sea Eagles. After a few beers talk got onto our rookie coach TB and how I think the bloke should be charged with impersonating an NRL coach. I was then told by my new best friend that they were privy to information, allegedly, that Griffin is on the way out and had been on the nose since April and that part of the rookie coaches meeting in May over his contract with the Sea Eagles was to do with him taking on the coaching job at Penriff in 2019.

He reckons it is still on the cards, so I guess all we can do is hope...…Sorry for any spelling mistakes etc as I am writing this with beer googles on.

Well my drunk mate from Penriff is now 50% right, I wonder if he will get the quinella.

Credit where it is due to the coach.
We played footy right up until the final whistle, and beyond.
This clearly is a much better way for this particular team to close out a winning game, as opposed to our previous attempts at closing out games from the 20th minute onwards. Dragons game again springs to mind, for what should be obvious reasons.

Maybe TB is finally learning.

Next week, I hope we focus on not taking the easy 2 point option when the opposition is down to 12 men and we have all the momentum.

The eternal rookie no more, hopefully.

I'm a member of the "Sack Barrett" club because quite frankly I think he's been a failure as our coach. But at the same time I also realise that he is not the fully to blame. Not only is the club right now one of the worst run, if not THE worst run club in the NRL, but the players also have to shoulder some of the blame because its them who are going out there and not performing.

But I do honestly believe that even with all the injuries we've had and with all the off field drama the club has been going through.....we should be playing a lot better from our structures in attack and defence to our games plans. And those things fall back on the coach. If we had a good coach then we wouldn't be trying to avoid the spoon, we'd at the very least with the talent this team has got be vying for a top 8 spot.
Nailed it! 100%

Interesting that Fletcher the riff CEO says they have spoken to 2 current NRL coaches to replace Hook (on BSB).

Cleary, Bennett or Trent?

Cleary and Bennett. Gould isn't stupid. We are a chance of getting our first wooden spoon with a squad that should be vying for a top eight spot.

Every time I hear a player, former player, RL official or commentator speak they are always full of praise for Twenty.
Surely Twenty couldn't have them all bluffed?
His results are unsatisfactory, agreed. But even with the demountables at our Narrabeen training grounds and all the high winds we've had recently it seems he hasn't lost the dressing room yet.
