Should we sack Trent

Worse than Northern Eagles , well yes that is indeed bad.

But don’t keep wishing folks because in a blink of an eye we could be the Perth Sea Eagles.

And we would be truly ****ed then!!

Mate, as I alluded to just above, those are very convenient stats being thrown around.

2001 - 750 points conceded and overall differential of -147

2002 - 740 points conceded and overall differentail of -237

2003 - 791 points concesed and overall differential of -234

2016 - 563 points conceded and overall differential of -109

2017 - 512 points concesed and overall differential of +40

So throwing out attacking stats to declare it is a worse situation than NE days, is quite frankly........utter bulls*it.

None of it makes for good reading and I am far from happy with where we are and how we are travelling.

But my point is, you can pull specific stats out to prove you side of an argument anytime and conveniently omit the ones that don't and get the lemmings to jump off the cliff.

Interesting how the word immune applies in Barrett's case.
I love seeing Queen Arthur cop plenty because he's a treacherous, one trick pony.
But Griffin cops plenty from the media and Mary got it too.
TB escapes.
Don't know whether it's the bozo factor but they give us heaps about anything else but him.
At the end of the day feathered friend . When a team keeps failing to produce their coach eventually is given the tap on the shoulder and its good night Irene . Never underestimate the sound of silence

OK, fair point. But the more important stats are wins and losses and our position on the ladder. The Northern Eagles are often used as the benchmark for us being at our very worst. Well, the indisputable fact is that under much greater adversity than where we are at now the Northern Eagles performed better (won more games and finished higher on the ladder) than now. That's my point.

2001 to 2003 our regular season win % was around 38%.

2016 to current day our regular season win % is around 42%.

Both rubbish. But once again - how is the NE stats superior to the current situation?

Happy to go back and compare number of players used (ie injuries) in the squads each season too if you want?

The 2001 ssason had 11 wins, but they played 26 games, not 24 like the other seasons.

Also there were no finals appearances 2001 to 2003. Has been under Barrett in "the worst years in our history".........

“if you torture the data long enough it will confess to pretty much anything you want”

Speaking of stat torture, check this out from nrl.com.

https://www.nrl.com/news/2018/07/09...-era-of-state-of-origin-domination-is-a-myth/

NSW players will have the added motivation on Wednesday night of knowing they can officially erase five years from Queensland's era of State of Origin domination.

The Maroons have triumphed in 11 of the previous 12 series, but the number of matches won by the two states in the past five years is actually now seven apiece.

Should the Blues complete a rare clean sweep of the Holden State of Origin series at Suncorp Stadium, the record books will favour NSW 8-7 in the 15 matches played since 2014.

In the last 50 years we've only had 4 seasons where we had a win/loss less than 35%
  • 2000 (Northern Eagles) - 35%
  • 2003 (Manly) - 29%
  • 2016 (Manly) - 33%
  • 2018 (Manly) - 31.3% (up to the last round played)
In the whole beautiful history of the mighty Sea Eagles we've only ever had 11 seasons with a win/loss less than 35% and of those seasons, four of them were in our first four years.....

Our average win / loss % in the 72 seasons we've been around is 57%

Barrett has been in charge for 2 of the 11 worst seasons in our clubs 72 years.

Barrett and the leadership have taken this club to lows that are so far below what is the norm I don't get how anyone can defend him. He must go.

SACK TEFLON BARRETT NOW.
