Looks like the Bunnies have folded and will now just take a larger payment.

So the rort just keeps on happening.
So Fox Sports, the Daily Telegraph and SMH are all reporting that Penrith are currently being picked apart because they made a GF. Why does this same rule never apply to the Rorters?

It's always subterfuge when it comes to the chooks. Eg-Media reports they will need to shed Angus Chricton's million dollar contract in order to sign the most expensive junior in NRL history. They went on about it for weeks.

Everyone speculated on where he might end up before changing their focus to the off season signing frenzy. Roosters then clear a space in their squad by releasing a 20 year old who has played one game and sign Suuali with a minimum of fuss.

The focus is now on the hatred that exists between South's and the Chooks rather than how they managed to fit another $500K player on their books.

They upgrade players whenever they want and it never eats into their cap. Extend players who they thought were moving on or retiring (Morris twins and Friend), and find a spare $400k to sign SBW mid season after winning the last two premierships. Then they somehow acquire the most expensive kid in League or Union.

Wait for the usual, he signed for unders because he wants to play for the Roosters so bad. Never mind the market value rule folks.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are being slapped with a $375k penalty to their cap for offering old Robbie Farah an ambassador role at the club after football.

In my many years as an observer of many different sports around the world ... I have never seen greater expectations and public pressure placed on the head of a kid that has not yet played one senior game of football ... all the good judges may well be correct and this kid is a star amongst stars ... but sweet Jesu on donkey back .. he will need ice water in his veins the day he debuts ... he is fortunate that the game has changed and a few of the old heads aren't around to welcome him into first grade in the traditional way ...

Imagine Lurch O'Neill, John Harvey or Igor getting their hands on him back in the day lol.

I don't get it, honestly. They just roll off signing after signing. Well said, mate

The only other "signing unseen" I can think of is when the Tigers signed Suli on a huge contract before he'd played a first grade game & look how that went.

Albert Hopoate was potentially going to be another but left a lot to be desired when he finally got his opportunity in first grade.

It'll be interesting to see how this Suaalii kid goes.

If the NRL wants to save the game and survive. they have to bring these power brokers under control. The game is destined for the scrap heap, unless those in control bring people like people like Politis under control. This is getting far too corrupt for the games survival. Find the right bullet and aim it directly at the causes of this stupidity

And here you have it. Unbelievable. The narrative has shifted from the Roosters moving on Chricton so they can sign Suuali to tbem extending him because he was NSW best player. If only other clubs were permitted to operate on this kind of sentiment.

So corrupt. Nick Politis and Peter V'Landy... birds of a feather.

Paper bags. Always paper bags

Looks like uncle nick gotti made souffs an offer they couldn't refuse.
Yep , almost guaranteed there was a financial inducement and possibly a large one.

Uncle Nick has made a lazy 500 million in the last 6 months so money isn’t an issue

Sydney Roosters recruit Joseph Suaalii could be playing NRL by the opening round of 2021 if a bid to have the schoolboy debut at 17 proves successful.
Roosters officials have already approached NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo about playing Suaalii next season before his 18th birthday in August.
With James Tedesco locked in as fullback at Bondi Junction, the Kings School prodigy will most likely start his career on the wing.
Should the Roosters submission be granted, Suaalii could debut in the season opener against Manly at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday, March 13.

The kid is a Glenmore park product. He is something special.. alot of buzz around him in the west similar to Hayne when he was at cabra. Wouldnt surprise me to see him start soon as he is old enough

He needs a big contract to cover his private school fees.
