Arguing the pass is forward when the rules say it is not is futile and pointless...Oh so when it suits a fan "the people running the game are now experts", lol.
I'm not arguing how under the current rules you can argue the pass is ok, i'm stating i take a linesman direct in line view over camera angles and physics that alter the perspective in favour of a pass technically being ok.
If this is the case linesman should not have to make calls on forward passes because the physics and out of hand backwards argument defines most passes as ok.
I can’t spell worth s*it, particularly after a few beers. Happy with the game tonight though. Recon the boys have got another 20% improvement in them while most other teams (including the Eels) are as good as they’re going to get.Haha yeah but its spelt losing
Ps robbed
Shut up you plonker you are wrong and making yourself look like a total goose.I'm not debating this----the point is the pass over a short distance is not going to float "that much forward" due to momentum.(over a longer distance sure no debate)
If the ball is released backwards momentum over that short distance might float the ball to a line ball forward pass from point of release but not 1mtr forward.
Flat passes are legal, any forward momentum a player has will transfer to the ball, at 30kph a pass in the air for 1s could travel 8.3M forward and still be technically backwards. Extreme example but I'm exhausted and the numbers were easy. Most passes in a game a player is not running at a sufficient enough speed to generate a huge forward momentum to a pass unless you are in open space and running at top speed.
A pass travelling 1mtr forward over say 4-5mtrs is a hell of a lot of momentum travel relative to distance when not at full running speed with a 45 degree running line angle.(which reduces "direct" forward momentum travel relative to the tryline being square)

Definitely seems that he has some momentumtechnical coach - your credibility is taking a hammering. You can’t ignore the physics
Mate give it up! You’re not an expert! You have no idea about physics! People who know a $hitload more than you about rugby league & have experienced real time rugby league have agreed the pass went backwards after Trbo released the ball & it’s clear as daylight. Unfortunately your physics argument is incorrect!Oh so when it suits a fan "the people running the game are now experts", lol.

Have you ever played a game of league, Union, touch footy, austag in your life? If so you would be aware of the “back out of the hands” and momentum which moves the ball forward. Sorry but anyone who saw that pass knew it was back (at best flat), including the referees boss. Fairdinkum.Pass was forward by a mile, all this crap about momentum and point of release being backwards is over thinking it.
Linesman was right in line of the play yet we take a camera angle behind the play over his perfect view of the pass.(i feel sorry for linesman they can't win) Camera is behind the play making the point of release look backward, as the camera catches up with the play you see the true direction of the pass---it's not momentum that is floating the ball almost a full metre forward over a short distance.
Remember Tom is nowhere near full running speed, not even running a straight line to increase the chances of momentum taking the ball forward over a greater distance in the same direction---- a ball can float forward yes but not by that much over a short distance due to the laws of physics.
Slow the play down and you see where Tom released the ball before contact behind the 20m display number and the pass is caught almost on the line of the 20m----will take the linesmans view over camera angles and an estimation over how much physics has a play any day of the week.
Nah after what I saw tonight, we will improve and the Broncs are no chance.now onto the broncos next week.
Where again the nrl can’t have there darlings lose again.
can feel another stitch up coming.
oh by the way when all of the fox panel agree that was not forward from tom then you truly know how bad that call was from Cummins
Really like this post and I thought similar re Eels outplaying is. Howvever on reflection had we not been dudded by Cummins early I think Parra would not have gotten on top in that first half. It took us a while to work back in and that was taxing. In saying that our execution at the end of sets was as bad as I’ve seen in a long while and Moses outplayed dce in that regard. We need a bit more structure to our sets and ensure DCE finishes the set. Walker for mine is still (and perhaps always will be) a Centre playing in 6. I don’t like seeing him with the ball on the 5th tackle. For this game, the Eels had a nine day turnaround whilst we only had six.* It seemed we never really recovered from defending so many sets at the start of the game. After that, we lacked composure and our kicking game, both long & short was very poor. There was a lot of one out running in the forwards with little ball movement or offloading. Also there was very little dummy half running. The Eels played very well, their kicking game was on song & there was good individual performances from Sivo, Gutherson, Moses & others. Whilst watching, I felt the Eels were the better team and were mostly on top. In fact, the only time I became animated during the whole game was when Reuben crossed for his try.
Yet despite the above, we would have won except for an official's mistake (a much bigger bungle than the controversial 'six again' call during last year's GF). The only thing that kept us in the game was grit & determination. This was exemplified in the effort required to score each of our tries. This will keep us in good stead in future games.
Positives for me: This was the first game in which I have perceived Parker as a genuine attacking threat. I think there should be more effort to give him early ball - the attack often breaks down with Thompson's runs on that edge. Also, I was very impressed with Garrick's determined try crashing through Gutherson's tackle. He seems to have bulked up & become stronger in the off season. He is developing into a very capable finisher, scoring tries with speed, acrobatics & now strength! Full credit also to Jorge tonight - his tries were special.
The Eels played well, but still needed luck to beat us - a field goal & a conversion by Moses striking the uprights on the way through, plus a wrongly disallowed Sea Eagles try.
Onwards & upwards in 2020!
* For our next game, the Broncos will have seven days turnaround, whilst we have only five.
C’mon Jerry, you know TC revels in his I’m right, the world is wrong mantra. He loves this shiit. 😉Shut up you plonker you are wrong and making yourself look like a total goose.
So your saying the pass was forward now? HmmmShut up you plonker you are wrong and making yourself look like a total goose.
Never had that much forward momentum in a pass without wind assistance that is for sure.Have you ever played a game of league, Union, touch footy, austag in your life?
