This always happens boringly so, the interpretation of the forward pass has been over complicated by "back from the hand and physics judgments" when one is subjective and the other can't be calculated on the run in relation to how much momentum has taken the ball forward.

If it looks forward it is forward will get it right more often than "oh it is back out of the hand and momentum floated the ball forward making every pass "technically" backwards, it is like you are opening up a loophole for every pass to be argued it went back.
The people that run the game have stated that it was a dud call, Surely if the experts who officiate our game have admitted that this call is an error then surely that settles the argument. It wont change the result but this is a FACT!

Well I’m still very disappointed but at the same time pretty proud after the **** that went on in the first half and the way we played at times , that we almost got that one.

We can argue all night about forward passes or not and the NRL can apologise but as we’ve said plenty of times at games.

“Look at the Scoreboard “

They won
We lost

We’ll do better next time.

Now for the Donkeys

Motm tonight

Oh so when it suits a fan "the people running the game are now experts", lol.

I'm not arguing how under the current rules you can argue the pass is ok, i'm stating i take a linesman direct in line view over camera angles and physics that alter the perspective in favour of a pass technically being ok.

If this is the case linesman should not have to make calls on forward passes because the physics and out of hand backwards argument defines most passes as ok.

Ridiculous. By that logic nearly every pass thrown by a player running forward will be a forward pass then. It was not a forward pass. By definition a forward pass is throwing the ball in a forward motion from the hands which it clearly was not.

Loosing games on bad ref calls is just part of being a Sea Eagle supporter. It’s part of what makes supporting this team great. Without even including the 97, 07 and 13 grand finals I can point to a dozen games we had stolen from us. But we keep bouncing back. Be proud and trust in Des.

Most passes in a game a player is not running at a sufficient enough speed to generate a huge forward momentum to a pass unless you are in open space and running at top speed.

A pass travelling 1mtr forward over say 4-5mtrs is a hell of a lot of momentum travel relative to distance when not at full running speed with a 45 degree running line angle.(which reduces "direct" forward momentum travel relative to the tryline being square)

Not to worry it’s only 1 game and if we are worthy of top 4 then we will get there. We have a lot to improve on. I do think though that if the NRL make these rules they should at least know the science behind them. That grid post a few pages back tells the story quiet clearly. Errors are still the biggest killer in today’s game and it’s going to get more crucial as the comp goes on. To win a grand final we need to be a side with very few errors. So far we are fairing better than most teams due to the new fast way of playing.

I was keeping score at one stage but then got all flustered , I think 7-2, or maybe 9-2, against of course.

Des didn't go off the boil Tooves style in his presser, but he wasn't a happy Hasler.

The thing I did like though was that other than two dubious tries and one from a freak pass, our defence stood up to it. Last week the Worms blew the Drongos off the park in similar circumstances. Tonight it took a botched call for them to actually get the win.
