“NRL head of football Graham Annesley confirmed the Sea Eagles were robbed after a forward pass call went against them in Parramatta’s 19-16 win against the Eagles”.

As always though, not that it makes one iota of difference. Cold comfort when the 2 points are already in the Worms bank.

As I said earlier in the thread, until tonight the Worms defence hasn't been tested all year. Late in the game we showed that they may be good front runners, but put their goal line defence under pressure and they will crack.
We weren't testing their defense for 60 minutes because of our errors, poor last tackle options and one way traffic in penalties and 6 again calls.

Camera angle behind the play makes almost every pass look like it's back from the hand, at best it was lineball from the hand.

In such instances i will take a linesman view directly in line with the play over "angles and the law of physics worship" everyday of the week.

Except for the fact that the so-called flying fox camera was dead in line with it and clearly showed that it came backwards out of Tom's hands.

Give it up mate. I know you're trying to justify your own view on it, but even the NRL have come out and said that it was 100% the wrong decision.

Pass was forward by a mile, all this crap about momentum and point of release being backwards is over thinking it.

Linesman was right in line of the play yet we take a camera angle behind the play over his perfect view of the pass.(i feel sorry for linesman they can't win) Camera is behind the play making the point of release look backward, as the camera catches up with the play you see the true direction of the pass---it's not momentum that is floating the ball almost a full metre forward over a short distance.

Remember Tom is nowhere near full running speed, not even running a straight line to increase the chances of momentum taking the ball forward over a greater distance in the same direction---- a ball can float forward yes but not by that much over a short distance due to the laws of physics.

Slow the play down and you see where Tom released the ball before contact behind the 20m display number and the pass is caught almost on the line of the 20m----will take the linesmans view over camera angles and an estimation over how much physics has a play any day of the week.
Your trolling was better when you included a touch of subtlety.

This happens most of the time in such situations because they fall in line with the "physics and commentator outrage sentiment" so they look contrite and kill the story over the next 24 hours.

If they say it was a forward pass it will continue to make headlines for the next week.
Hahaha... that's a p"ss poor attempt at justification... I agree it is forward BUT it is NOT forward in accordance with the current rules... you are wrong bud and even the NRL can see it (which is HIGHLY unusual)...

The flying fox cam shows the ball at best releasing at a line ball angle definitely not backwards----as i i have said in a lineball situation i will take a linesman call over camera angles and physics everyday of the week.

Unfortunately yes.

Des in his presser said he would be talking to Sutton about the inconsistencies in the 6 again calls.

What planet are you on TC??? The NRL have just confirmed what we all know!! Disgraceful call that denied the club that you and I support a famous win!!!

I've never seen a player ( turbo) that gets called for more forward passes in my life. Its gotta be on the refs pregame checklist. Along with ripping manly at any possible chance. The tapau penelty for first points really riled me up as I saw dce held down on at least 2 occasions when trying a quick play the ball like moses. Only difference was dce didnt flop down like a cheatin prick.

This always happens boringly so, the interpretation of the forward pass has been over complicated by "back from the hand and physics judgments" when one is subjective and the other can't be calculated on the run in relation to how much momentum has taken the ball forward.

If it looks forward it is forward will get it right more often than "oh it is back out of the hand and momentum floated the ball forward making every pass "technically" backwards, it is like you are opening up a loophole for every pass to be argued it went back.

Your hands can look like they are facing backwards with the camera angle behind the play.

No way a pass will float that much forward if the ball was released backwards over such a short distance, the exception being for example a clear break is made running with the ball at top speed and passing over a reasonable distance while at top speed.(a winger on a break or like the long Buhrer pass from a few seasons ago)
If Tom doesn't come to a complete stop milliseconds after passing it the optical illusion wouldn't have fooled the touchie. The Ball barely floated a metre forward, Tom would've covered a metre with one more step.
