This is the replay if you need to see it again

Your hands can look like they are facing backwards with the camera angle behind the play.

No way a pass will float that much forward if the ball was released backwards over such a short distance, the exception being for example a clear break is made running with the ball at top speed and passing over a reasonable distance while at top speed.

Because he was tackled immediately after passing it... A ball passed flat while running at 20km/h is still going to travel forward at 20km/h. Basic physics but I am not going to argue this.

Parra managed to have more possession than us but we again showed our resilience to make the most of the possession we had and in the end we were good enough to win the game with that great try . That disgraceful no try decision decision gave the eels the match .
This match should fire us up for the season
Imagine the return clash.

no need for more motivation than tonight’s result.

even though it hurts think that loss will help us this year us against them again where Des likes us.

parra will take the win but Des will get us back at them.

Eels played well and showed they are one of the genuine favourites to win this year.
And Manly showed why every other team will fear us. By coming back from such a big deficit, Manly showed quite fearsome strength. Not many teams have survived an early onslaught to bounce back under the 'new rules'.
All in all I was exasperated with our errors and some clunkiness, yet my hopes for this year have not diminished, quite the contrary!

Still a lot of positives. When we turn up the intensity and get a roll on, teams cannot match us. We can play like that to the 80th min. Defence is good, both left and right attack is good, just need some more repeat sets. If we maintain possession for a few sets we are hard to stop. Levi is doing an ok job, if we can get Faniu back then we could go to another level

Mate he passed it before the line and garrick caught it b4 the line. How far forward do you think it went????? Idiot.

I'm not debating this----the point is the pass over a short distance is not going to float "that much forward" due to momentum.(over a longer distance sure no debate)

If the ball is released backwards momentum over that short distance might float the ball to a line ball forward pass from point of release but not 1mtr forward.

They should a lot of strength, some of those hits were intense, Parra would of run away with that playing most other side's but we maanged to lift and put them on the back foot, really should of taken the win

Seen Brett Stewart tip on plenty with the exact same motion. It is less forward than most of the dummy half passes from Mahoney and Smith that is for sure.

Last comment on it. What about if the momentum of the original pass is strong but the tip on was only slight, then it would still be travelling with the original momentum and only tipped slightly backwards.

They threw their best punch at us, has 60 percent of the ball in the first half, we gifted them 10 points either side of half time and by the 80th minute we not only withstood our own errors and everything they threw at us, we scored a breathtaking try to win a game in typical Manly style only to be denied by a howler of a call from the officials.

If we are going to have a captains challenge in the game, ALL things need to be in play including forward passes as with the slow motion that they use, they can easily determine if the ball is passed backwards by the player delivering the pass.

In a nutshell it was a game that we had every chance of winning and our mistakes rather than their brilliant play sealed our fate.

Bring on 4 weeks time as this memory is not going to go away for a while.

Last year the Warriors copped the same ****e call as we did. I hate that the worms are immune at Parramatta park.

I just hope that this does not cost us down the track as the top 8 is going to be very tight this season.

Its hard enough winning at Whinger park, you not only have to beat the 17 they put out there, always the officials who protect them on so many occasions.

It was a courageous comeback from 18-2. The circumstances of their 3rd try and how we gave up the ball could have broken them, it only inspired them on and we gave it to them for the 2nd half and we were denied a famous win!!

Got what we deserved.

If we won that we would not be working on our slack stuff enough.

DCE and the entire team and kicks to the in goal just so horrible tonight.

Suli lazy, lazy and more lazy, standing watching, not getting back to help out. I'd drop him.

Garrick looked like he was carrying a calf injury in the left leg from the kick off for mine. Might explain goal kicks as well.

Just too many settlers to be a top team. Especially from Jake. It has to change.

Don't let the score fool us. ATM this team is a mile off being top 4 material.

What month is finals again?
