Channel Nine reporter Danny Weidler broke the news on Tuesday morning.

"It's just got very, very serious - New South Wales police are now involved," Weidler said on Channel Nine.

"I can reveal that Tyrone May, the Panthers five-eighth, has been charged with two separate charges, with two separate victims.

"I don't even know if the Panthers even know at this point."

May appeared in two videos that were released on social media late last week.

He missed Penrith's 20-0 preseason trial defeat to Parrmatta on Saturday.

NSW made changes to existing legislation in 2017 that would see harsher penalties for 'revenge porn'.

Under NSW law, it is illegal to record or distribute intimate images without consent, as well as threaten to record or distribute intimate images.

Perpetrators can face a maximum of three years jail time and an $11,000 fine if found guilty.

NSW Police have charged Penrith Panthers player Tyrone May over filming and circulating videos of sexual acts with two women without their consent.
Police alleged Mr May, 22, filmed a sexual act with a woman at Coffs Harbour in February last year as well as with another woman at Kingswood in western Sydney in May.

Authorities were told the sex acts were consensual but the women were unaware they were being filmed and the footage was being shared without their permission.

I really don't understand why we have to discuss and fuel this sort of content or news. If it is non-consenual of nature or out and out abuse then that's horrible and a matter for the police and courts, not for social justice.

If its a video released that shouldn't have been and is a private matter then let it be.

I am sick of this become the "confidential" pages of tabloid news papers. I long for the days where the sports pages are about sport again!

Yes but we can be better than that, than the NRL, not such lofty heights of which to aspire I know. I would prefer to speak about the sport, the game, the quality of football not the social lives of the players
