However i don’t get his reasoning here or what he is trying to say. Hastings got dropped to NSW cup so we still have to pay him. Had we ripped up his contract based on what happened then i would understand. How do you have an agenda to relieve salary cap pressure by keeping someone on the books and in NSW cup?

Now we don't know the ins and outs of what's gone on with Hastings over the past 12 months but I don't see why Trent would come out and say what he did if there wasn't plenty of reasons - he's known him a long time and thought he could sort him out, we don't know what behavioural clauses, counselling obligations etc were in his contract.

So taking the parent analogy - if we tell our kids that there'll be consequences if they don't toe the line and give them chance after chance what do we have to do?
We need to follow through with whatever form of discipline we threatened them with don't we?
They might whinge and say they'll never do it again, learnt their lesson etc but if we've heard it all before and their siblings have heard it all before we don't have a choice but to follow through for the betterment of the family fabric.
Then say, Grandma or Aunty come down on us - he's just a lad that's feeling his way in the world, don't be so harsh, he'll try real hard to be good etc - and we soften our stance and Grandma goes home and then he starts up again.

Yes, Barrett may have painted himself into a corner with this one but hopefully wins the end game - he's on a hiding to nothing if he picks him in the next few weeks just because we're not winning - that'll really help Jackson's ego and give him the green light to continue what he's doing or not doing.

Yea it was a little like that. BUT, there is a reason behind it. Whatever it may be, it has to do with our players lack of concentration. Too much off field problems on their mind while on the field to be able to concentrate on catching the ball let alone football in general and when you have thousands off people watching you with something to hide it ain't gonna help out there. The air is slowly clearing. Slowly though. We will come good but only after the flu has taken its course as there is no quick fix or magic pill. Keep supporting them and backing them up. I would rather have a great team out there than have great individuals running around thinking of themselves only.

Yep I feed mine twice a week. I feed it to the wife that has been with me for 30 years and she is now almost part of the family.
