New low in Chez bashing...

Chez is the Beckham of League.@

Media complain about cookie cutter monosyllable answers, yet they ridicule those men who don't fit the mould :banghead:

Hope to God the kid is not picked for SOO, as Chez will be lambasted by all these flacid old scribes.😡

Why the hell doesn't ZtH write a counterpoint piece. Chez is Manly's greatest investment after all :lightbulb:

Lol!
So DCE isn't 'QLD enough' because he's articulate, thorough in his preparation and responses in media situations and doesn't only aswer in typical footy cliches.
Shame on you Daly, shame!

You should be more like Inglis (who also back flipped on a contract with Brisbane but those muppets ignore that) and only talk in poorly constructed generic cliches and mumble like a gibbering idiot that left school in year 8. That's a true Qlder right?

G'day all,I would of thought that Andrew Webster of all people, having by his own admission experienced the prejudices of others and the stigmas attached to them in his own field, would be less judgmental and more tolerant towards those that are perceived to be "not one of them".
cheers mike

Seriously if ppl want proof that Manly bashing sells papers then that article is it. I've heard Webster mention this on BSB once before, obviously it irks him quite a bit.

I'm sure how DCE comes across in the media will be the deciding factor in his selection/non-selection not his ability to win a game when it's all on the line!!

I'll be going against the grain here, but he's got a point. I find DCE very "measured" in all his interviews and you rarely get any hint of passion from him. I could never figure out if that was because he was trying to hide behind a very well manicured media persona, but interesting to read that is what he is actually like (allegedly according to this article). I'm all for being an individual and don't mind "strange cats", but I find that image he portrays as one that is hard to warm to.

Doesn't really matter at the end of the day, as all that really matters is him delivering on the field and not being a total dick off it.

From memory Bozo had to put up with sh*t like this in his playing career. So he can watch DCEs back like Arko did for him.
Then, like Bozo, let his playing do the talking.
DCE needs look no further than the way his team mates flock to him these days when a tries been scored.
And what the supporters think of him.
And the rest can go f*ck their foot.

Could not agree more. I was furious when I saw the name on the article. He really can't be proud of his own struggle with being 'different' and then attack someone else for it. He may be attracted to men but he sure as hell doesn't fit into a gay community that celebrates and accepts difference.
**** off Andrew.

The whole thing is complete garbage because there is one bloke that is actually 1000 times worse than DCE for the overly polished media responses and that is Cooper Cronk! Cronk is one boring human being with the personality of an empty cardboard box. But Cronk seems to get along just fine up there with the QLD duelling banjo players. I reckon if DCE played for Storm they would be calling him an utter professional from Bellamy's finishing school.

What a desperate article attacking someone who is being himself from a person who has publicly stated they almost killed them selves for not being able to 'come out' as themselves.

DCE isn't perfect but he tries. What type of stupid ducking class order system is Webster spruiking when he says because DCE is from a working class family he can't aspire to be more. He is ducking more. He's a million dollar a year premiership winning Clive Churchill medalist, origin and international representative.

Webster has just crossed the line. He has written this **** he needs to pull his head in. It's disgusting.

Worst article i have ever read..seriously! Couldn't even bring myself to finish it. On fox after the interview all 4 commentators said he spoke really well and deserves the spot in qld side. Ask any Manly player and i bet they would say he is an excellent captain, excellent footballer and a close mate they love playing with.

Webster you fu#ken turd. That has made me so angry!! Argh. What a wa#nker

Hopefully the manly boys take to twitter to back cherry up

I don't mind cooper cronk but he's a different guy too. He is a great player. It's not as if DCE has published his own website with the prophetic advice 'dreams are like fish, they slip through your hands'.

Webster follows his great mate from the SMH, Pirate Pete FitzSimons. I.e."who can I make the story about? Why not make it about me?" I am always leary of fine fellows like Webster who think we are interested in their life journey. We're not, mate. You could've done a wonderful story about a guy after a rough couple of years is hitting his straps on the field. But no we get paragraph after paragraph of Webster's turgid pseudo-psychological prose which doesn't do much to define the young man.

What do we know at the end of the story? Daly is well spoken, and Webster doesn't like what he says. For Pete's sake he is a rugby league player, he is not in the running to be the next UN Secretary-General.

Why in the world would DCE want to say 'I have always looked up to / admired thurston'. If you wanted to look up to someone you would pick someone a little more worthy than a scum bag like thurston.

Why didn't webster highlight something more important such as the bullying environment in the qld origin team/camp
