Your logic is problematic on many levels.

A quote from an ICU specialist at a Sydney hospital.

'An intensive care unit staff specialist at Nepean hospital in Sydney, Dr Nhi Nguyen, said those who are fully vaccinated and die tend to have significant underlying health conditions. Being treated in intensive care, where people may be on a ventilator and unable to move, added to any existing frailty, especially in elderly people, she said.'

So yes perhaps there will be days where fully Vaxed patients die from covid and complications associated to covid but as always its about the data as a whole. not a hand picked piece of data to back up a line of thought that is unsupported by 99% of health care professionals.

I go back to my car crash analogy I'm so fond of. Wearing your seat belt and having airbags in a car greatly reduces your chance of death if in an accident but it doesn't guarantee a positive outcome.

Many frail and elderly patients or those with underlying health conditions will die regardless of how many times they are vaxed.

Mate, I'm double vaxxed. My family has been ravaged by Covid. Literally smashed to the point where a birthday was unable to be celebrated yesterday. I live in the Nepean catchment area. The post I made above is fact. I will refrain from posting the "statistics" within my own family. But I will state that a proper vaccination both protects and stops the spread of illness.

Welcome to the Omicron Variant. I'm sure your situation is a complete ball ache but your original statement was vague and used only a part of the data to question proven facts. yes vaxed people are dying and you asked why that is. my answer was a direct reply to that.

Unfortunately, it still infects regardless of vaccination. the Vax was designed for the original and to a point the delta strains and it's done a fantastic job of protecting people.

best wishes to your family and given they are all vaxed there is a very good chance everyone will fully recover.
 
Just sitting back watching the latest Covid update. An "official" just explained that the 38 thousand cases today and death of a double vaxxed 20 yo highlights the need to get vaccinated. This was followed by the statistical graph showing that 95℅ of NSW is vaccinated. What am I missing here?

A couple of things

1. The man is described as being in his 20's not 20. Vaccinated man in his 20s dies as NSW records 34,994 COVID-19 cases. Details and facts are important here
2. It is difficult to get a complete picture of who has been vac'd and not as part of the overall death rates. One way to view this would be to look at the mortality rate in highly vac'd countries like here v others that are not

Social media is calling bluff on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for modifying its definition of the words “vaccine” and “vaccination” on its website. Before the change, the definition for “vaccination” read, “the act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce immunity to a specific disease.” Now, the word “immunity” has been switched to “protection.” The term “vaccine” also got a makeover. The CDC’s definition changed from “a product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease” to the current “a preparation that is used to stimulate the body’s immune response against diseases.”

Is it any wonder more people are becoming sceptical.
 
Read some data the other day, which said there were 95 people in ICU in NSW. 48% of them were unvaccinated, which when you consider 95% of the population are vaccinated it highlights the assistance that the vaccine provides. I could try and find the data, but conspiracy theorists will just say that they don’t believe the numbers.

some really good facts on this sheet but it just goes to show you data when cherry-picked can back up any view you want it to.

So say I was an anti-vaxer I would quickly and selectively quote this section:

COVID 19 Patients in hospital as of 2nd Jan -- 1204
% unvaxed - 29.9%
% Vaccinated - 67.4%

WOW... look there's proof the vax is useless and it's all a scam by the government yada yada yada.

However, if you look at all the data you can see that the RATES PER MILLION section gives a much more balanced view of what's happening.

the last figure is telling

ICU rates among Unvaxed v Vaxed per population aged over 12 -

82.5% of those in Intensive care are unvaxed.

Now there's your WOW moment.
 
For anyone interested, the above link is the footage which was first aired around the world of Chinese people dropping like flies when the virus started in Wuhan. Just curious whether any Silvertails members have seen anything similar these past two years? It reminded me of Contagion, which was on tv tonight btw. That movie used all the same dialogue, procedures, and medical speak that we are all experiencing today. People should watch it - Nostradamus like prophecy from some screen writer in LA.
