Agree with all the above. Except your disclaimer. I cannot be certain you’re not Parcell.;)

I think there is a good chance if Des had taken over after Tooves, he would have retained Parcell. Sadly we were stuck with Barrett instead.
And I’m not certain @flying sea eagle isnt affiliated with Matt Parcell’s gentlemen’s club. He doth protest too much...

I explained to a Canadian today what 'smoko' meant.

Also... I thought Parcell went ok.
Singaporeans have no chance of understanding smoko. In fact, anything with the slightest bit of humour gets lost.

I’d be interested to see how parcell goes back in the nrl. I wasn’t overwhelmed by him when he was with us, but he was still pretty green.

Yep. I was disappointed when we let him go. He shows great promise.
He is 28 now and hasn't he scored a gig at any NRL club in the 4.5 years since he was here.

Worth asking... if he was that good then why has no other NRL club got on the phone?

To me he seemed a bit like Danny Levi, has the skills but something about his involvement and ability to read the game seemed a bit missing when he actually played at NRL level.

-Lack of demand means low price. The risk versus reward makes sense.
  • The game played in the NRL now is vastly different from the game played when he was at Manly and the game played currently in ESL
  • Who do you propose would be a better addition to the 30? If not Parcell what do you do in regards to number 9 being an ongoing weakness (even accounting for Crokers vast improvement)?
  • When he was with Manly it was actually a very close battle between he and Api for the number 1 hooker at the club. It was mostly injury that derailed him.
  • When he was at Manly he was playing under an absolute clown.

The point is that if he was willing to be a backup hooker in an NRL squad (and be paid as such)... then surely he would be doing that already?

Or he could play as a starting hooker in England and get paid as such there, which is what he has been doing for nearly 5 years now.

So not sure how cheap he would be.

Regardless if Manase returns , Lawton looks a real keeper , then Croker not re signed yet but going O K . Cust still on the books for next season . Capable player but not sure how Parcell comes into the equation as things now stand .

Lawton has played well for us as a stop-gap second rower but not sure just yet what he provides at dummy half. No doubt we'll get to see a bit more of him over the next few weeks.

Actually thought that Lawton was a specialist 9 not that i have followed his career much or know much about his background . Should be able to slot in effectively there for Manly one would think

When fit, he's quite zippy out of dummy half. The run threat Croker isn't.
