Yep. I really don’t get the continuous call for Koula to be FB. Not just all the reasons you mentioned, but Garrick does a good job now filling in. To bring a 19 year old rookie into that position is madness. Especially when he is getting better and better at centre.

I can understand how you feel about what a terrible thing Lodge had done in the past

And it was really terrible I agree

The fact is our past does not define our present if we are able to move on and redeem our selves

Lodge has moved on and is now a family man with children and a law abiding citizen

Another fact is that we do not live in a prefect world and no one is perfect and we all have flaws and demons that we struggle with

We also have a lawful process that deals with crimes

I am not sure what purpose holding on to hatred for peoples past serves ?

All good mate! It’s certainly not a guarantee to happen, but there have been talks and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him here.
 
So its no to Lodge on here but if Payne Hass became available im guessing his bad boy bikie loving teammate punching DH acting would be fine?

Just different levels of acceptance vs how good the DH is.

Their misdemeanours aren’t even in the same stratosphere

For the record in that scenario I’d be happy if we didn’t go near Haas either, he is a serious cock up waiting to happen
 
It’s not about the person, even though it would be far better to attract quality people, it’s more so about the quality of their game, if your going to use Hass v Lodge, then Hass is the clear winner and would at least bring some quality on the field. I just don’t rate Lodges performances and I don’t care much for the stats, I’ve watch the warriors play all year and it’s a no thanks for me, would like to think we could do better.

Thats a poor comparison by a long way.What Haas has done,pales into insignificance with Lodge’s loooooonnnnggg list of atrocities.Lodge will be 27 this week whilst Haas is still 22.Lodge’s on field behaviour is only slightly better than his off field behaviour,where as Haas rarely causes on field problems.And the biggest difference is how much of a better player Haas is and the fact he is a team player that makes others better.Lodge is nowhere near that level and is selfish

Putting their crimes and atrocities to one side for a second, ask yourself this: has Matt Lodge improved any team he's been at? Spoiler alert: he hasn't. Now ask if Haas makes the Broncos better. He does. As a player, he's in another stratosphere to Lodge. But the funny thing is, the Broncos are pretty good without him these days. They also let Fifita and Pangai Jr go and haven't looked back. The moral of the story being: no team needs dickheads. Second moral: give young players an opportunity and they might just surprise you.
 
I dont need everone to be a great human to play for manly. Lodge made a huuge error of judgement. If des thinks he can get value despite his personal values ill go with it. I like beer and cake but i dont require a social resume from my baker or brewer or even sivertails posters

Squeaky clean souls are weird and can lack character and real life experience until they discover Lifes curveballs and harsh realities

Id like my PM to be a 50 yo that was once a drug addict, lived in poverty , possibly went to jail, then turned there life around, got married had kids, started a business and became a volunteer. Just an example not criteria . The media would never allow that as they crucify and confuse the mistakes and knowledge acquired

We all want leaders in life and sport , but leaders are made by life , mistakes, regrets , and not textbooks, But media demand something else. Lodge may still be a mistake . Not everyone changes, but no one can when they are ostracised

I support manly and not the players, so much. Players have very little loyalty so i do whats best for my family and dont lose sleep over players . Just footy and MAAAAAANNNLY
 
We really need to be careful with out recruitment and retention. There is an important balance in my view that includes not just talent and performance but a behavioral code. What he did in the US was atrocious and did not believe he should have been permitted to play in the NRL again. I still feel that way. So I will be disappointed if we sign him.
