I can picture Greenberg reading this forum. Revelling in our disappointment and desperation. Watching us turn against the team, players, management and each other. He must be stuck to his chair.

Very flat game to be at

We didn't have the desire, all running sideways and not putting the shoulder into the tackles

A few exceptions effort wise, I'll give young Parker credit, I don't believe he is up to it, but he just kept coming today which a lot of the others could learn from

We barely used Tom T in any set play at all, once he received that inside ball and looked dangerous but that was the only time we used it

Haven't read any of the other posts and probably won't bother, but I imagine DCE will be copping it. Can't question any effort he is putting in either, his forwards gave him nothing tonight and they sent big bodies at him all game but he never shirked that once, and the rest of the team aren't running anything off him to give him options to play with at all[/QUOTE]
He's the farking captain. Maybe I'm old skool, but doesn't he hold the responsibility to tell his players what he wants and expects. If he doesn't have options running off him, isn't part of his job as captain to demand that???... or as I mentioned once before, assuming he is demanding that and the players are simply ignoring him??? Hmmm.. either way, not good.

Players with 110% heart and effort (despite a lower skill set) are important members of a successful team. 110% effort from a million dollar star, and not having the ability is simply a ridiculous situation to be in. Would we give Willow a million dollar superstar contract just because of his heart?

Oh, and BTW, I don't recall DCE falling off so many tackles in a game before.

Obviously no good having a high completion rate when field position with poor kick options and sub standard organizing has been the norm the past few games .Also why there is still so many continuing blatant bad defensive reads and a mainly negative game plan recently is a bit hard to understand as well. Must be very discouraging for the bulk of the Manly forwards when they are really trying and are putting in a high work rate and good go forward to see predominately totally ineffectual kicks that just negate much of their good work and then results in even more pressure defensively . .D C E and Hodko must shoulder most of the responsibility and blame here, certainly some slack for Hodko with his clear limitations, but no leniency for D C E . If he wants to base his whole game these days on a mainly individualistic and self centered mindset and a lack of game awareness , he is doing everyone associated with the club a great disservice . The side was competitive for the first 20 minutes or so, then when the composure and leadership , mainly from the halves was required . it was almost non existent . No doubt some equal criticism for Barrett and Cartwright as well when some fundamentals just don"t seem to be improving but it is still a quite competitive Manly side on paper . Again not helpful when your two halves are playing essentially reserve grade standard , and there are of course always other factors that can result in a team under performing and not getting the expected results but these past two weeks and a few previous occasions , just haven "t cut the mustard on any general measure .

Fair point Al, but don't forget mate there is no one player when on the field that is to blame here because all our players this year have had shockers on the field especially our best. People on this forum are blaming the same people over and over and quite frankly its a waste of time. If anyone is going to have more bad games in a situation like ours its going to be our best players and why? because they are the ones that are trying the hardest. Now when you have ill discipline on the field and get yourself injured through it and jeopardize the teams structure then your playing with fire and even Manly's management itself has been doing it for some time now. A salary cap breach is not something we can cruise through especially without the SILVERTAILS cheque book of the 70's. We are not only being restricted in the amount of players we have but also we are being hit in the pocket now where it hurts and paying for players that are putting themselves on the sidelines for most of the season. That in itself is a recipe for a massive disaster. No one that is effected by this in someway or form, performs well. Its not going to happen. No matter who is out there its a team AND club effort off the field too.
