Obviously thrilled with the win, but how ridiculous is Turbo’s influence on the team as a whole? There’s plenty of very good players in the competition but none make the kind of difference to their respective teams as Tom does.
I think the Titans turned up convinced they were going to win easily. Even when Manly put some points on the board early, they still looked like a team, that just expected the game to come back to them.
That’s back to back wins now and they need to do it again next week against the Tigers. If they can and everyone stays fit, it sets up a huge rematch with Penrith.
Good weekend, I just hope the Raiders can do the world a favor later tonight.

The big difference with the defence was the line speed and the desire. Same structures but when you make up your mind to want it, you generally get it.
There is still indecisiveness in the defence that wasn't tested out today due to putting on points and removing the field position and grind element in the game. At times we hold and slide and other times we push up and in, it still looks ragged and soft when Manly are not having it their own way.

The test on our defence is how it performs in an up tempo game when things are not going our way, we fatigue way too easily and lose defensive composure with any uptempo moments and can easily get stretched.

Keppie is getting his spacing wrong defensively and tends to switch off on the inside too often leaving too big of a gap.

Yes, Tommy was huge and lifts everyone around him, but that was the best team performance I can remember for a good few years. Really happy for all of them. And great that Des used the bench and gave Cust and Haumole decent time.

Also the first time I can remember ever being happy seeing Tommy on the bench at the end of a game. He well and truly deserved the rest.

Great response and great result. Naysayers aside, can we just indulge in some joy for our team for the first time in - as many point out - many, many months.

That was the most complete performance we have delivered in close to a year, and if anyone wants to harp on the negatives - quite frankly I couldn't give a ****.

Well done Team. Let's build on that. Great efforts everyone, but this is the beginning not the end.

I’m still laughing at the look of pure relief on Harper’s face, after he scooped the ball and realised it was Saab looming up next to him... he’d been running in soft sand after the first ten yards and was gunna get run down and knew it lol: and then the Saab appears and it’s “thank you jebus” hahaha

Makes my heart sing!

Keppie on an edge is risky, he has zero lateral movement. Exhibit a: O’Sullivan’s try last week

I used to be able to see method in des’s madness.

Now, not so much.
Worked out ok in the end?
Gee great players like Tom make those around them look much better.

Hard to believe one guy can make our attack look so good. It’s crazy.
Never a truer word said. The reason is not that the others are bad but opposition defenders need to put so much more effort into one player which just gives solid guys that little bit extra time to play. Makes a world of difference
Wow. Surely this isn't just the result of 1 player.
Been saying for ages that what TT brings is a whole game improvement across the feild. Hes the glue that calls the defence line really helped by Snakes help. Hes always in the right position both in defence and attack. He just scares the **** out of 95% of those that need to mark him.
Goes to show tho, when toms out none of these guys have a chance in hell of scoring points.. put tom on and almost our entire backline has a try..
It's great to watch, but it hides how ****e some of these guys are... When. Toms hurt, it's back to having 0 points in our backs....
They arnt **** just solid. See above about why.
1 player. He puts the entire defensive side on notice. Tgey are all watching to see where he is and what he’s going to do. Brings all the other guys into it. Parker’s not seen a hole all year but gets the first pie pouring in! There’s holes all over the place.
Exactly.
West’s Tigers next week

We can do this !!
Just need to back up and we will it.
Said today during the game we haven’t really lost anything with Aloia, his effort is huge and his not 100% but still gives 110% of what his got.
He could be awsome. Yes AFB is a monster when fit and in the mood. Only problem was his attitude.
I loved watching the defence and effort of Harper today. This guy really wants it. Love it.

People didn’t want the younger guys coming in but four new players in Saab, Schuster, Harper and Guac and they have shown they belong. Saab has issues he must work on, but his speed gives us certain tries that other wingers couldn’t convert. Schuster is so classy in attack but I knew that; however, his defence has been great. Gauc with no match fitness was still really hard to stop. Great to see.

Injuries forced three of these changes but it showed they should have been there from the get go.

Great win.
Perhaps the coach does actually know what hes doing?

Nothing like coming out of the burns unit and excelling beyond expectation.

Great stuff Eagles! So many stories tonight, i'd love to indulge in them for a short period before we face the inevitable 'yeah great win, but....' crowd.
