I only caught it briefly in the coverage but do we think Aloiai has anything to worry about with his tackle on report?

Not sure if it was for high contact or a shoulder charge (looked to wrap his arms a little late).

You’d hate to see him miss the clash against the tigers!

What a win, watched it late last night. Best performance iv seen in a long time.
Everything was clicking, so good to see..

He should have nothing to worry about imho .... but we are dealing with the NRL

Yesterdays performance was another step forward.

Gone was the hesistancy, fear, lack of confidence and it was replaced by doing the 101 basics, structure, solid defence, finishing our sets and having a constant threat from our Tommy Turbo and speed outside of him in Saab and Garrick who had a picnic.

The Titans are a dangerous team, building into an imposing force and they took their eye off the ball yesterday and Manly seized their chance. What I liked about it is did they not only do that they showed tenacity without the ball and scrapped and scrambled when the referee made it his cause to give them resets in the 2nd half.

What was so obvious yesterday was the strike we have with Tommy is fit and how it lifts the guys outside of him It also boosted Foran who had a whale of a game and Schuster was scheming and creating and gives our who attack a new dimension and to see DCE play without stress was great.

To see our young pack moving forward and being lead by the likes of Paseka, Sipley, Oka, Schuster and Keppie took all the pressure of Marty, Jake and Croker and allowed the team to have a consistent platform for the backs to thrive.

The Titans were well off their game and they got frustrated by Manly turning up again and again in defence. This is a huge chance compared to the first month.

I feel that the season has truly started as you can see how much improvement there is in the team and there will be some stern tests ahead. What is a fact now is that teams facing us know that we have weapons and we are a threat and I look forward to seeing these young players in our side gain more experience and develop and mixed with a blend of experience in DCE, Jake , Marty and Foran is a the kind of cocktail that creates success as it did before.

Its a step forward and I think we are all very relieved to see a quality performance like that knowing that there is so much improvement to come!

If you watch the game again watch young Keppie marking Fifita ( Jake also had a role ).

seriously every time he got the ball , Keppie smashed him.

He was my unsung hero yesterday , did a beautiful but largely unnoticed job.
yep, he had a job to do and did it well, didn’t escape me on game day, he was promoted to the starting side for that very reason and effectively keep Fifita out of the game. Played big minutes too, the full 40 in the first half, ( he still has work to do on his game and will improve if he puts in the effort) Fifita had a bit of a smile during the first 40 at times, didn’t see him smiling too much towards the end of the game and he desperately tried to put points on the board in the last couple of attacking raids and you could clearly see his frustration, well done lads to keep the score sheet to a clean slate, I think the commentary said it was the first time since 2014!

Just looking at the Hit up Parker did in the 3rd minute.

The titans #10 didn't miss him with a "dead set" shoulder charge.

So... speaking of charges, wondering when we find out if he's been reported.

There was a penalty blown but blocker said it was for in the 10 mtrs.

Get to work "lesser Robbo" -ha

So he rightly got pinged.

(should be 10 weeks - or the next 10 times we play them).

Err...sorry for quoting my own post. Didn't realise at the time, just picked the most intelligent looking one.

lol

Agree with the assertion that it’ll be a different story when the opposition get a few things to go their way. In saying that, a lot of what happened today was because we never let the Titans in it. We defended with energy and stopped their quick play-the-balls which took Fifita and Brimson out of the game.
We played with more energy yes, but the drop off in intensity and noticeable fatigue in the small patches that didn't go our way was very worrying.

We dominated the first half yet still look ragged, we lack high work rate fit players that can sustain intensity and recover quickly from periods of the game not going our way.

Perspective time ...

Once you drop off intensity you start dropping off tackles and teams score

We kept the Titans to Zero because we never dropped off intensity
